   my natural hair color level is 1-2. I’ve done a full baylage ombre using blondme with 20v. Obvi, my lifted hair was btw 4-6 level, red, red-orange, orange and some pieces lifting to orange-gold. I processed my hair for the full time, 30 minutes with 20v, rinsed and deep conditioned. This turned my hair a nice brownish with red undertones, but the brass is gone. The next day I followed with deeper conditioner, and fanola no orange shampoo for 10 minutes than washed. This definitely took more of the reddish undertones out, BUT any light pieces also toned down. I now think I should have went lighter for the toner. Next day I did face framing pieces with foil, processed 10 mins in foil, removed and massaged each pieces for another 10 mins and rinsed. I then used color charm activating lotion for demi color (no developer) with T18 for 15 mins on face framing pieces. PERFECT. Honestly, liked the face framing lifted pieces with the balance of my hair that I processed with T35/Fanola blue.

   I think this is better for levels upwards to 2-5 lifted level max but not above. I’m actually glad I didn’t try to tone with demi or semi color.

   If you’re hair is level 4 and higher but still a brunette, you might want to try a lighter toner in the beige series from wella since your hair will be porous, and the darker toner might make those pieces darker than you would have liked them to be.

   I will use this again. I am naturally about a level 7 light ash brown hair with true gold tones. After years of blond highlights it goes brassy easily. I’ve been using Ion 9NA or 8NA or 8A with #10 developer on my roots to blend and it gives me a little lift, so as it grows out I have a halo of washed out blond over brown. My roots were grown out with 20% grey. I wanted to blend and cover grey and get rid of the very washed out Orange brass tones in several shades all over my head. I mixed 1 bottle of Wella T35 toner with 2 parts #10 and let it kick for 5 minutes in the bowl then applied first on the roots and temples for 10 minutes, then covered the rest of my hair for another 20. Rinsed it out thoroughly in sink, then shampood and conditioned both color safe. The result is it took me back to a very natural #7, covered my grey roots really well, and toned the blonder streaks and ends to a lovely natural dark golden blond. Washed again the next morning as a little smell was still there and it took it away and made the color even better. Not sure how long this will last but I’ll have no problem using it again in 3 or 4 weeks. Left hair soft too. I’m very happy with it. I’ve tried the Wella T18 before but it was too light and didn’t really cover and blend enough for me. 1 bottle did my shoulder length hair. Go for it!

   I tried this, although probably chose a color that was too dark. It turned out much darker than I anticipated. I had recently used the L’Oreal Coleur Experte, Toasted Coconut, color and highlight kit. I liked the highlights, and not having a solid color, although it pulled a little more red or gold tones than I anticipated. Naturally I’m an ash or beige blonde. I wanted something to tone down the brassiness, and didn’t think it would cover up my highlights. My highlights are somewhat still there, just not as noticeable. I’m missing my blonde, because to me it looks brown. It will probably lighten up with further washing, generally hair color does. It did tone down some of the brassiness, and I only left it in for 10 to 15 minutes max., which is why I give it a 4 rating. The directions aren’t really clear, it states to leave it on for up to 30 minutes. I’ll leave it for now, because I don’t want to put anything else on top of what is already there, and wait until it’s time to recolor again. I’ve read some comments where people put it on their roots for 5 minutes and pull it through the rest of their hair for only 2-3 minutes. I suppose it depends on how quickly your hair absorbs color. Live and learn.

   I use this after highlighting my hair or touching up highlights, since it has a brassy tendency. This product is very good for cooling it down and creating neutral, wheat like tones. Actually, what I use is T27 Royal Beige which is very similar. Around here it costs around $2 which is a great deal.

   I’m fairly low-maintence with my hair. I’ve been dying it every few months with Naturcolor (mixing levels 9N and 7N to get something between 8N and 9N). My natural color is probably level 7 and when I lighten it, it turns gold or even red-gold. I had almost forgotten that toner exists and had never really used it. And so I spent about a day and a half reading up on toners and how to use them.

   I got a bottle of the toner and the Wella activating lotion (10 Volume developer, although it is not advertised as such). I mixed 1 part toner to 2 parts developer. I worked quickly and left it in for approimately 8-10 minutes. The smell was incredibly strong and I was kind of afraid that I would choke on the fumes. It also left a mess (my fault, I suppose).

   I’m pretty pleased with the results. This is a Violet-Gold toner which reduces brassiness/yellowness without turning my color completely cool. The results were effective but subtle. I am posting some photos to give you an idea of how it changed my hair color. Photos were taken on the same day and I tried to get the same lighting. I would probably purchase this again, but may try other toners next time. I suspect this one works best for dark/medium blonde hair. Lighter blondes may want to use one of the other toners.

   Already facing brassy tones for the last few months from a bottle dye. I used a Wella 9 NG (gold) sand blonde. 1:2 ratio Used a 40 developer. I left this mixture in for 50 minutes doing the roots first at 10 minutes and I turned to a yellow hay bale color. Perfect what every girl wants in life, yellow hair.

   The VERY next day I bought a silver shampoo and used it twice and bought toner T35 Wella

   Thank god for the T35 Wella 10A/1030 (violet/blue) palest ash Blonde. 1:2 ratio, I used this toner with 10 developer. However, I let the mixture set for 5 minutes BEFORE applying. I applied to my hair doing 2 minutes for the roots for a total 8 minutes for full coverage.

   My hair is a nice warm sandy brown and my highlights are white blonde. Great save T35! will buy again

   After summer, like clockwork, I find my beige blonde hair to be extra light and it just washes me out. The ends always look lighter and just blah. So when it starts to get cooler I always crave darker hair. I am nervous about taking the permanent plunge (as I always change my mind!) so I wanted something more gentle with less commitment. I picked this toner up in T35, Imperial Beige (Violet-Gold) along with some 10 developer at Sally’s, mixed it according to directions and put it on my clean, dry hair, starting at the top of my head. Oh my goodness – I freaked when I saw how dark it was getting so within 5 minutes I was in the shower rinsing it out, cursing all along the way. After it dried I was shocked. It turned my extra light washed-out bleachy blonde strands into a way more demure light-medium beige blonde with a few highlights here and there. No red or gold, no purple or ash. My hair is soft and super shiny and not any more damaged than it usually is, lol. It does smell like chemicals, but I know that will go away in a wash or two. I really love the softer color it gave me along with the bounce and shine. Definitely will try this again!
