This product is terrific, if it is used for what its meant to be used for. Its bleach pure and simple, don’t use it on dyed black hair, or dyed hair of any kind, use a color stripper for that.
It works great turning dishwater blonde hair into platinum, but works horrible for anything darker than that. Lighter blondes will go neon toned, so be mindful of that.
Damage will happen, after all, its bleach and a rather cosmetic form at that, so gummy ends will result after long exposure.

I use this every month for my dark brown roots. I keep it on my scalp for 1 hour and a half. In the end of that time gets a little irritating. Every time m roots become lite blonde with yellow tent.after that I use Clairol silver and blond shampoo and conditioner. They make my roots and whole hair look more natural blonde.

I am surprised that this product gets such bad reviews when it works so wonderfully for me… And yet the one that did not work for me at all (7th stage) is the opposite.
I used to get my hair lighlighted at the salon and the stylist was wonderful. Unfortunately, however, she ended up quitting the job so I continued going to the salon just had a different girl do my hair. I decided to ditch the highlights and go for the all over blonde look. Well, the “professional” who did my hair turned my roots orange and thought that toning it would turn it blonde (?) That didn’t work and she had no idea what to do so she was told (by another stylist) to rebleach again. After spending all that money on my hair trying to make it look decent, it only took one bad stylist to ruin it for months. After that I decided that I was not going to throw away hunderds of dollars when I could learn to do it myself.
So the first time I tried to do my roots I tried the 7th stage and ended up with the same results as the stylist. I hated that it was blue as well so I decided to go for this one since it’s white, that way you can actually see your hair process and lighten. I mix it with 30vol developer and add in a couple of activator packets. It works wonderfully and lightens my light brown, very resistant hair into a pale blonde in about 30 minutes. Works great and it’s cheap. I’m so glad I learned to do it myself and now lightening my hair only costs about $10 per month instead of $70 that I used to pay at the salon.
