I really like this cleanser, after trying a lot of products that dried out my acne prone/sensitive skin i finally found this one that leaves my skin with a clean feeling and doesn’t break me out. It’s gentle and i never got any rash or itching from it (and i easily itch from products especially on my face). Overall a great product, I’ve been using it twice a day for 6 months and will continue to use it:)

After going through numerous body cleansers in search of a product that calms dry skin, we’ve finally found it (my husband uses it too). Rinses clean and does a great job of cleansing and soothing skin. Bonus that it can be used on face as well.

I am specifically adding this review to the MakeupAlley database so that people can be warned about this product as it is a health hazard.
DO NOT USE THIS BODY/FACE CLEANSER!!!
Here’s my story – I had received a free bottle from my local pharmacy. I took it since it was free and since it was an Avene product – a brand I like. I didn’t really like the list of ingredients after looking it up online. Then I tried it a few times – the smell is awful and the texture is … weird. Thick and gooey, hard to spread on your body.
After only a few days I started to feel itchy – I did investigate more, thinking it was probably just dry skin (which didnt make any sense to start with: TriXera is supposed to help relieve dry skin). But I had been pretty busy those last days and did not think about it too much.
Then one night after showering with this product, I had this terrible itch on my hip. I looked more carefully as I changed into different clothes. THE.HORROR. I discovered I had a very scary and terrible rash exactly EVERYWHERE this product had touched my body. Since it’s a body cleanser – well – the affected parts are pretty large. This was a terrifying experience. I am right now on large dose of benadryl and prescription cream – waiting for the extreme rash to go away. It is very unfortunate, as I am currently recuperating from a surgery – I did not NEED this right now. I am so grateful I did not use it on my face, at least I can go out in public. Altought TriXera did a fine job on my ears (they’re burgundy red).
I can’t believe the Avene website says this about the product: “Daily cleansing care for dry to very dry sensitive skin that is suitable for the entire family (children age 3 and older) soap-free, paraben-free. Gently cleanses, protects sensitive skin, cleansing care with intense lipid-replenishing action. ” Do NOT use this on your child!
Overall Rating ? 0/5. Yeah sure, it might not happen to everybody using the cleanser, but why take the chance? This is the worst reaction I ever had from a beauty product – in my life.
