Lovely shower oil but I just didn’t find it effective enough for cleansing as I would a bar of soap. It lathers beautifully, has a mild scent and it did soften my skin without a doubt. I used it with a loofah sisel covered sponge and found it soaked up the product, which I had to use more product for the oil to activate any suddsing. In the end a 250 ml bottle lasted only a few weeks… not impressed. A bar of soap lasts me months. And for some reason I feel overall cleaner using a bar of soap, with this product it seems to feel superficial- good for moisturizing but not deep cleaning. For me it’s just meh…

L’occitane’s Shea shower oil is a lovely body wash product. It was released in Australia in late 2017, so it is pretty new to the market! It comes out of the bottle as an oil consistency but when it comes in contact with your skin and warm water it transforms into a silky, milk like consistency. It doesn’t leave your shower floor oily or slippery. As such, it is quite similar to L’occitane’s famous Almond shower oil – with two key differences. Firstly the scent is very different. It smells like Shea – very soft, clean and neutral. I personally like it a lot, though some people have said that it reminds them of babies – for some that will be a negative, but I personally find it comforting and inoffensive. It won’t clash with any scented lotions or perfumes that you follow up with. The scent will linger on your skin for a long time afterwards. Secondly, I find the Shea shower and oil to be more hydrating on the skin. My skin is always silky smooth after using this product. I always follow up with either the Shea Fabulous Ojl or Shea Ultra Light Cream to keep my skin extra soft. I also believe this product would suit sensitive skin as it is natural and not heavily fragranced. I use this multiple times a week and already picked up a back-up bottle. I would highly recommend this!
