In the UK we have an industrial strength hand cleaner called Swarfiga. Car mechanics use it to get the engine oil off their hands. My dad uses it when he’s been painting, to remove the gloss paint from his skin. It’s pretty strong stuff and if you’ve ever been around it, you’ll know it smells horrendous. Well, this shower gel smells just like it!
I couldn’t quite believe it the first time I used it, but on subsequent uses it became more and more apparent to me that what I was smelling wasn’t sugared almonds as the bottle would have you believe, but industrial strength hand cleaner! I even asked my husband what he thought of the scent of this and without even knowing what I thought he said: “It smells a bit like that green gel stuff you use on your hands when you want to get engine oil off them.” In other words, Swarfiga.
This is now the 4th or 5th Organic Surge product I’ve tried and so I’ve not liked any of them. Yes, they might be organic. Yes, they may contain lots of good, natural ingredients. But if they smell unpleasant, make your skin react like nothing before and are just wholly unpleasant to use, it stands for nothing really. Sadly, this is another let down and one I’ll be steering clear of from now on.
