Been using this for nearly two years and it’s a pretty good cleaning lotion for daily use.
My face always feels wonderful fresh, clean and soothed. It also really, really helped reducing the oilyness, without leaving my skin dry and/or irritated. It does some minimal positiv changes towards acne and stuff. I still break out sometimes, but oh well, it’s clearly not because of this. I also really love the smell (I think it’s available in different versions, at first I got one in Asia – didn’t like that smell very much -, but know I’m using the European). Although they claim it’s parfume free, it smells clean and pleansant like classical soap. It has a pretty thick consistency, so just ad a few drops of water before you put it on your face.
If you get the refill package, it’s definitely a good deal.

This is the most amazing cleanser i’ve ever used. I have really really sensitive combination skin that can easily get irritated, ances,… I’ve tried so many cleansers before, from the cheapest one to the most expensive one, and all of them, one way or another just did no good to my skin. I’m just so glad i’ve found this cleanser. I’ve used it for half a year and WILL DEFINATELY buy it again and again.

This has been my go-to facial cleanser for years and years. And yes, I’m a beauty junkie who have used many high-end brands before learning to read ingredient lists and learning to listen to my biochemist father.
At the end of the day, there are only 2 – but crucial – requirements for a skin cleanser: 1) that it cleans away oil and dirt (duh), and 2) that it does not strip away the skin’s ‘acid mantle’ while doing it. Only a cleanser with a pH of 5.5 and below can achieve that. The skin’s acid mantle (google if necessary) works like a natural barrier that protects the skin from external elements. It is also acidic, so if its pH is disturbed by harsh alkaline cleansers like bar soaps, skin becomes dry, tight, irritated and susceptible to bacterial infections.
Don’t be afraid of cheap cleansers – detergents and surfactants are ridiculously cheap cosmetic ingredients, and facial cleansers are the one step of your skincare regimen you can and should save money on. There’s no need for fancy ingredients in your face wash, it stays on your skin for too little time before being rinsed down the drain. Save your money for the skincare that comes AFTER you’ve cleaned your face.
Eucerin’s sensitive skin pH5 Washlotion does everything right – it cleans my oily/sensitive/dehydrated skin well, it has a correct pH, and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or irritated. It’s gentle enough for babies. Get the fragrance-free version and make your skin happy.
One more thing – I’m in my mid-thirties and I’m constantly being complimented on my good skin. A guy friend of mine was actually shocked when I told him that I needed to stock up on facial cleanser, then walked into a pharmacy to pick up this washlotion. He spluttered about how it’s meant to be a body wash (it’s not), and how he was sure I used very expensive skincare (I use a lot of Paula’s Choice, does that count?). In any case, my point is – don’t be put off because this item is “cheap”, resides on a shelf with body washes, and comes in unsexy packaging. Because it works.
p.s. (as though this review isn’t long enough already) The flip-top cap sucks. After a while the alignment slips and I can’t snap it closed. Have to transfer to another container.

Pretty good at cleaning my skin and leaving it soft and moisturised. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all. However, it isn’t as good as Ego QV Gentle Wash which truly eases away any skin inflammation and soothes my dry skin.
Still good to use though. 🙂

I’ve been using this cleanser for about 2 week and have been blown away! Before I was using TBS’s Tea tree oil line, but I was still breaking out, so when I ran out of cleanser I scraped through my draws and found this, thinking ‘why the heck not’ I used it, and my acne has never been better!
It has cleared up, and the big, painful cysts have begun shrinking and my blackheads have been slowly dissapearing! It has also begun slowly lightning my dark, scars!
This cleanser is very gentle, without stripping at all and washes off easily and is very easy to foam up!
After these amazing results, I will countinue to use this cleanser as it is now my HG!

I’ve used this for a year or so now, and I love it. It cleanses my dry skin without making it tight, and it works for my chest and back to clear my acne! A lovely everyday-wash.

I have been using it for a year now and it has cleared acne from my shoulders, made my skin smooth and soft, removes dry areas (caused by allergies) and repairs some of my scars. Definitely HG. I can’t imagine my life without it.

One word: miraculous! I grew up in a tropical climate, so the weather in Western Europe was a major shock for my skin. My skin was so dry and itchy, and even the L’Occitane body cream that contains 25% of shea butter didn’t manage to save me. I was so miserable till I finally wandered into a pharmacy, complained about the problem, and was introduced to this product. The package isn’t fancy at all (like all the other pharmaceutical skin care products), but it works SO well! It is pretty thick, so rubbing it on might require a little extra effort. However, it absorbs fast enough, leaving a thin layer of protective film on your skin. And guess what? My skin has NEVER been itchy for even once since I started using it! The price is reasonable as well. I will definitely buy it again and again!

This is the most moisturizing shower lotion I’ve used. Very good for my dry and upset winter-skin. Skin feels hydrated and calm after shower.
I like the fact that eventhough this is so gentle and has some oil in it, it allows skin to breathe as it doesn’t leave a oily residue on the skin. I’m left with just a clean, moistened skin and when I apply body lotion straight away, the feeling stays with me ’till the next shower. Sheer heaven!

second jojoba’s review: this is excellent as a facial cleanser! i’ve been using Eucerin Sensitive Skin pH5 Protective Wash Lotion on my face, morning and night for quite some time. It cleans very gently, but does not strip the skin at all. It does not leave any residue, and rinses away very easily with water. My face feels so refined and soft after each washing. I can also go without moisturizer when i use this. I love the gentle fragrance too. IMO, its superior to other made for sensitive skin cleansers such as Cetaphil (i’m still using Cetaphil on and off, even though it stings my face, and leaves a film after tissueing off and rinsing) Overall, a fantastic and beautifully formulated cleanser for face and body. I do find it too expensive to justify using the wash lotion on my body, though i imagine the results would be just as good. As a cleanser for the face though, paying approx SGD$11 for a 400ml bottle… ah.. that’s how skin care should be: great skin at an affordable price.
