I bought this soap years ago at a boutique shop in the old port in Portland, Maine. The shop went out of business. I also had the body lotion. LOVE it. I am almost out of the lotion and I bought more soap on Amazon…I cannot be without it. The best smelling and longest lasting soap and i am sure someone will stop making it; so i had best buy a case of it!!! Also, I keep an unopened bar on top of my bureau and when people enter my bedroom, they always comment on how nice it smells in the room!!!

I just saw that the Italian Blood Orange soap bar received one star so I needed to jump in and give my thoughts because I love it! To be honest no, I don’t use it as soap but like many others – as a wardrobe freshener. The smell is delicious! The fragrance is said to be infused with soft summer floral notes of Jasmine, Rose and Lily of the Valley (whatever that is).
Whenever I open my cupboard you get hit with the yummy scent. It’s one of those products that makes a fantastic gift for a friend because the packaging is absolutely stunning and along with the delicious fragrance it’s just an overall pleasant product to be gifted.
Just to also add as positives… it’s made in Australia, not tested on animals and includes shea butter and vitamin e if you do opt to use it on your body 🙂

not so fond of the scent. it is citrus but has a illy sweet note. the soap lathers a lot and cleans too well, making my skin dry. which surprised me since it has shea butter. The ingredients list say: Sodium Palmate, Sodium Kernelate, Water, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, Tetrasodium EDTA, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, BHT, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow (CI 11680). The shea butter is even lower than tetrasodium EDTA which should be less than 1%. For $15/7oz bar, I’m very disappointed, beautiful packaging though. L’Occitane costs less, $10 for 8.8 oz bar and has 20$ shea butter!
