A very basic, mild soap. Although I like to switch off, from time to time, I always come back to this one, and have been using it for decades. I consider it a “comforting” soap. When getting out of the shower, I feel super clean, without any heavy scent. I still use a body moisturizer afterwards, but I am very happy with this highly effective soap, and the best part is it’s affordable at the dollar tree.

Tried this and ended up giving it to my boyfriend. For a hypoallergenic soap— it is strongly scented with a “soap” smell. I dont think its actually fragranced but it left my skin smelling like soap and if you are sensitive to smells, its strong.

Kept passing this by at family dollar and I finally bought it. Let me say this…I have all the dial soaps in my collection except a few of the fruity glycerin soaps they offer and I like dial especially the gold bar soap but this basics one is a darn good soap. It does have a slight old fashioned perfumey smell but it cleans well and softens skin even better. I am impressed and now I am ditching ivory for this …ivory was my go to pure soap but this one is better it’s not drying like ivory. I can’t believe how much I really like this and no itching what so ever. I did get itching and burning around my belly area from dial glycerin sea berries soap and dial glycerin marula oil soap but this one is much better no fancy packaging no fancy bar just standard looks just like ivory soap but works better.

Dial Basics Bar Soap replaces Pure & Natural, which was discontinued in 2008. It’s packaged in three 3.2-oz. soap bars & tested by dermatologists to be hypoallergenic & that’s why I got it; I have sensitive skin & am more worried about getting clean than smelling like some tropical fruit. After use, my skin felt soft & clean, but there was a white film left on my skin, which means it removes natural oils from my skin. It’s stripping & therefore drying. The soap is not fragrance-free; it smells like flowers or leaves in my opinion. Do not make the basic assumption it’s unscented because it’s labeled as hypoallergenic. Fragrance is one of the ingredients!
I know my review reads more negative, but in reality if you’re like me & looking for something that focuses on the cleaning instead of the fancy stuff, this is the soap to use. It’s drying, but I apply moisturizer after I shower or bathe.
