   I love this bath oil. One or two drops at most, please. It’s funny how different the bath oil and edp spray are. The oil is sweetly resinous, less of a patchouli bomb than the edp, which is sharper, aldehydic, more invasive, projecting into the atmosphere like a nuclear cloud. I do love both versions (and all versions) and would happily layer myself in Youth Dew until the whole neighborhood reeked, but my husband truly loathes YD edp. He doesn’t complain about the oil, however, interestingly. The oil is sweet, spicy and softer. I mix a drop of Youth Dew bath oil in unscented lotion to use as a scented body lotion. It lasts forever, smells delicious, and in this way it doesn’t beat everyone within a ten mile radius into abject submission. Snap up a bottle or two of this spicy, brown oil to stash away because who knows when or why it might be discontinued before you blink. though I think EL know better than to ever commit such a heinous act. They would have a revolt on their hands.

   Oh, how I love this.
   It’s deep, dark, resinous, spicy, it has everything but boredom.
   Just a tiny, nano sized drop on bare skin, nothing more.
   … Nothing more or she will wear you, choke you and beat you like a moldy rug.

   I love perfume oils especially during summer because I’m always prancing around in the desert and dry, desert heat evaporates perfume on me faster than I can blink.
   But this bath oil stays put, develops exactly like a conventional perfume and lasts until I wash it off.

   Last year I spent weeks in Death Valley, the Mojave desert and south east Utah, every single day well over 100F, and this was the only frag I took with me.
   It transferred onto my clothes, my hair, in a light, veil like cloud of deep, dark, witchy fragrance.
   I know most people read this and go “Is she out of her effin mind, YD in the heat?!?!?”

   YES.
   The cooling spice: desert people eat and drink hot and spicy to cool off.
   A so called “clean, fresh” scent quickly goes sour and disappears on me during hot weather.
   … Have you ever tried leaving fruit and flowers exposed to sun and heat?
   It starts stinking in no time, lol.

   But YD bath oil, now there’s a fantafabulous olfactory trip to be reckoned with!
   Think woman healer, ancient Shamani, powerful witch and sorceress in her cave, far far away, long, long ago…
   Hot, dry desert air blowing in the cave which is dark, cool and brimming with smells of ancient yet undiscovered ores, you can even hear her chanting above the crackling of the fire she conjured up out of thin air.

   Now here’s the odd part:
   I tried the EDP spray, found it harsh, and everywhere I went, it was “oh. You’re wearing YD.”

   But with the bath oil, it’s “whoa, what the hell is that, you smell incredible “.

   I have 3 back up bottles, lol.

   Beautiful boozy classic! I feel glamorous when I wear this. It is spicy & exotic simply beautiful. An affordable luxury just like in 1953!! For women like me who cannot afford to plunk down $100+ on Chanel but love the classic scent of beauty. Universal, age defying, sassy, classy, all of the things I want to be projected into a scent & a bottle lasts forever.

   OK, it’s mid-July, and it’s hot and humid, but I just had a horrible week at work, and I need a comfort scent. I need to go inward, tune out the world, and go into a zen comfort zone — wear something reassuring, supportive, centering. So I pulled out my Youth Dew bath oil and dabbed just a couple dots. Ahhhhh, soothing. I needed something I could smell but that wouldn’t waft out into the world. I needed something just for me — something healing and stabilizing. This was it — this worked.

   I used to be a dental hygienist decades ago, and one day a young 21-ish girl was in my chair — smelling *incredible* — and I asked what her perfume was. It was Youth Dew.

   Yes, my grandma put it in her bath water too — it was her scent, and her welcoming hugs each year when we visited her in Pittsburgh always smelled like Youth Dew — and maybe that’s partly why I find it reassuring.

   But no, it’s still a great perfume for today, no matter what its history. Youth Dew is a sweet-spicy, deep, rich, gorgeous perfume — on young or old, it doesn’t matter the age.

   I think the bath oil is a prudent way to apply, since it’s easy to control. To spray Youth Dew is dangerous and invites monster sillage — however, the bath oil can be dotted on judiciously like a perfume oil and can wind up as soft and close-to-the-skin as you desire. I love it!

   After all the raves on the board for this, I bought a bottle and am so so glad I did. This is richly exotic without being cloying, it also reminded me of Crabtree and Evelyn’s Nantucket Briar. I know that scent is subjective and that its not like this on everyone, but with my body chemistry, it does:) That had no lasting power to speak of, but this is just gorgeous. I could still smell remnants of it the next morning. I could smell the orange, then the rose and spices were just exquisite. I don’t think I want to be without this one…love! Thank you mua:)

   A slightly oily resinous scent, very smooth and subtle. Warm rich with floral notes a soft background, but not heavy or overt. It warms up on the skin and lacks the power the perfume seems to have, so it doesn’t offend, but simply drifts off the wrist and smells secret, warm and divine.This is lovely

   This is the original “Youth Dew” formula that the legendary Estee Lauder herself created in 1953. (the parfum spray was introduced at a later date) Its a LOT stronger than the spray but smells oh soo sexy and opulent. You only need a couple drops on your wrists and you’re good to go. This works very well with my body chemistry and isnt overpowering.
