I’m hopeless at reviewing fragrances, other than Love, Like, Dislike. This is definitely Love Love Love. On my skin, where a lot of PARFUM will just disappear in 5 – 30 minutes, I am very surprised that this EDT stays past the 30 minutes on me. I love that this smells so good, and it’s one of those that I can identify straight away. I usually come across many ‘lovely’ smells but I can’t identify what they are, as they just smell like any other perfume – KWIM? I wore some to bed last night, and whilst I am typing this review, I still catch whiffs of it. Lovely. This, together, with Guerlain Shalimar are going to be my ‘Signature’ fragrance. In my fragrance wardrobe are also Dior J’adore EDP, Jour D’ Hermes – I hope by letting you know my fragrance repetoire may help you in assessing my review better.

This smells like a cologne to me, not feminine at all. I will stick to Princess and Flowerbomb.

I do not know about perfume notes, so I can’t say very much there. I know that I don’t like vanilla and food scents, and this is NONE of that. I’ve read that this scent is fig, which sounds about right, because I love it.
My husband bought me a giant bottle (100 mL) of this fragrance for Christmas a few years back. Despite my careful keeping of the bottle in its box in my medicine cabinet, it has turned a darker amber color. No matter, the fragrance seems fine.
And now I keep it out on my dresser and use it every day. (Why hide it now?)
I find that it’s pretty subtle. I spray my belly and chest before getting dressed, maybe once more when I’m finished. My mom, who is very sensitive to fragrances, has never sneezed or been bothered or asked me if I’m wearing perfume. But I can smell this lovely juice, especially if I huff down my own shirt (super classy, I know, but I do love the scent!). It lasts for several hours, but not all day.
I just love the impression this scent gives me. It feels warm and sunny, but also clean, and importantly not overly-feminine-cloying like so many scents are. It’s not intimidating like some other Hermes fragrances are (like 24 Faubourg, which I am just not woman enough to wear). It is expensive, and it smells that way. And yet, it’s not a snobby thing because it’s not really FOR anyone but you.

I discovered this in Morocco 7 years ago. I was attracted to the bottle (loved the colors), presumed it would be some sticky-sweet thing, and then got hit with the wondrous scent of the exact type of perfume I love.
This is a very vegetal/herbal/woodsy–the latter being cedar–fragrance that is not for all. Do you ever wear herbal/woodsy men’s cologne? I know I’m not the only one who does this! It’s like a feminine version of that and very intriguing. There does seem to be an underlying fig note as many mentioned, but I also smell a bit of hot pepper and tomato and lots of Mediterranean herbs. It’s quite complex (any Hermes should be!) and I would suggest testing it before purchasing due to the uniqueness of it. I consider it the thinking woman’s fragrance. If you’re going for sex appeal, get the diva du jour’s perfume for 1/2 the price.
I keep comparing it with Un Jardin Sur Le Toit, which smells very similar to me but has a green apple note to it and none of the pepper, so possibly a safer choice for some, yet still very herbal/vegetal. Smells nothing like Un Jardin Sur Le Nil to me, which was very sweet or floral I recall and I have yet to sniff the latest–Un Jardin Apres La Mousson. The name tells me it will be very different.
Word of caution: I’ve tried 3 times to buy a Jardin online with disastrous results. It’s so much cheaper, but seems to not be worth it. *Update: successfully purchased online with expedited shipping. I think Hermes prefers to fly to its destination. Worth it!

ok, if this smells like Phylosikos than I’m Marilyn Monroe!!
since I’m not, you figure it out for yourselves;)))))))))
this wonderful Hermes’s creation smells like a Provencal summer, with all the ”right” plants in all the right places…Imortelle, sage, citruses, pinch of pepper, green mango, fig leaf (I smell sun dried fig fruit instead)…
Un J.sur le Nile is vile compared to this serene juice…
I don’t think all of us have the same associations when talking about this Hermes but I’m quite sure you’ve been somewhere on some mediterranean island surrounded with woods and dry herbs….so to me, this is a smell of summer on an island….
I’m quite surprised of how easy it is to pull this off but more so, I’m surprised that is doesn’t have such a sillage or longievity…it is quiet and close to the skin and this not-quite-ripe accord brings suptilness of this frag to another level…and gives it longievity in the base, when all the other notes sustain…
fresh, dry, aromatic and very french….but nothing hypeworthy!
ok, now I smell the vinegar, cedar and fried paprika…and just a little bit of dry fig…
nice,very nice and wearable…
definitely unisex!!

After sampling this at Sephora recently, I searched diligently for a bargain online until I was able to purchase a full bottle. Received Mediterranee in the mail today and I’m so pleased I took the time and money to get the 100 ml bottle. It’s such a classy, refreshing scent. There’s not much is any sweetness or wetness which makes the scent quite unique to me. It’s dry, fresh, woody and vegetal. On my skin I get dried figs, tomato leaves, celery, and a woody note that I can’t identify. Mediterranee is an easy to wear, casual scent. It’s appropriate for the office. I imagine that this scent is what I’d smell while cruising the Mediteranean on a yacht on a hot summer day. Although it’s transparent, I do get good longevity. I’m very pleased with this purchase and recommend for those who want a dry, fresh scent. This is my second (Eau des Merveilles was 1st) Hermes fragrance purchase and I’ve been very pleased with this house so far.

I have yet to purchase this but fully intend to. This is the ultimate summer scent. It is fresh but not “clean”. The smell I got coming through quite stongly was fig. I happen to love the smell of fig, so this perfume is certainly for me. It has a warm, comforting essence to it, It reminds me of an evening meal at a Tuscan villa with a touch of sunburnt skin and a very gentle breeze picking up the green smells of the Italian countryside. (Is that ridiculous)?? I cannot wait to own this perfume. The bottle to me is not exciting or particularly note worthy, it’s a bottle and it carries a great scent!

I tried this with some reservation since I spend my childhood summers in the Mediterranean and thus have made formative olfactory memories of the area. I was wondering how Ellena would interpret the warmth and beauty of the region. I was not disappointed. This was actually not what I expected, yet truly evocative of a Mediterranean garden. Less floral and more herbal, and that is a great thing. A warm afternoon, the sunshine and the dry heat releases green and the woody aromas . The sea is not in front of you, yet is making itself known via a gentle breeze and ties it all together. This is a happy scent, just bold enough but not loud. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but nor is it casual. A scent that will stay with you from the afternoon to the evening all the way into the Mediterranean night. I ordered a full bottle.

This is the absolute best smelling perfume ever! Every time I go into Sephora I spray this on me and it lingers throughout the whole day. I probably look really weird during the rest of my shopping when I keep smelling my wrists. I’ve loved it for months, but sadly I have no money so I am saving up, which is going to take me a while considering it costs around $90 for the smallest bottle.
When you first spray it on it smells horrible and really alcoholy. It takes about 15 minutes or so to really soak into the skin and project it’s true smell, which is amazing.
LOVE!

I purchased a sample from perfumecourt and I’m very sad I don’t get any of the complexities that other reviewers detect. All I get is a mint smell, like I accidentally spilled a bottle of mint mouth wash on myself. My bf says it smells more like sawdust/cedar. I like natural cedar but in this fragrance, it’s just mint all the way. Not fresh, natural or green…just shrill and masculine. This my least favorites of the three I sampled: Sur le Nil is much gentler and fresher, whereas Apres la Mousson is much greener and fruitier.
