There is something quite sexy about looking under the skirts of a lush tomato plant on a hot August day, and plucking her ripe, succulent fruits. No wonder my grandfather loved doing this. It is downright sensual. And that smell, the essence of summer, the acrid, rich, vegetal smell of those hairy vines and lacy leaves. You could risk smelling like bruschetta here, but it is a mind-blowing true smell of the plant. Not tomato juice at all, more like the pungent, tannin laced leaf.

I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about, this scent stayed on all day long! It starts out smelling exactly like a fresh tomato plant, it’s really remarkable, and then as it dries it becomes sweet and flowery, so it’s very wearable, though I took one lippie off overall because it’s a little too sweet for me. I also took one lippie off for packaging because the atomizer really is awful. I don’t know if I’d buy it again because it is too sweet for me, but that first spray is pure heaven, so I might just keep it at my desk at work to cheer me up during the day.

I love this scent–I have always loved the smell of tomato plants even though I hate the fruit, and it’s such an unusual scent for a fragrance product. It is very true to the real tomato-leaf smell. However, I really can’t understand why all Demeter scents fade off after an hour–really frustrating as they are one of the only perfumiers that offer stuff like this. Had to knock off two lipsticks for the fact that it doesn’t really count if it fades off before I even get to work. Dear Demeter, please help us out and fix this problem!
