Iam not good in describing base notes, middle notes, top notes etsc so I will just share my exprience in buying it. I encountered this perfume back in 2015, and it grabbed me. Something that vaguely familiar, but I cant understand what. I certainly liked it but not enough to bring her home. But, the smell is always stuck behind my head until fast forward early 2019, I met her again stood proudly among her shalimar, l’instant etc cousins while I was buying new spring 2019 collection. Why I did not notice her beauty before, I did not know. But, with her simple round body, wooden cap, golden label, and shimmering terracotta color juice inside she is definitelty an elegant beach lady. I spritzed a bit on my wrist and the smell remains the same, the memories that have been lingered were all coming back. Still, I put her back and bought all my purchases and headed to a nearest restaurant. While I was eating, I kept sniffing my wrist and finally decided. I hurriedly back to the counter and bought her. It was not a mistake. She still look elegant on my dressing table as she was in the store. The golden label doesnt scream cheap at all. Better than my chanel coco label. Yes, it is edt, but it is expected since it is an outdoor type of scent. Edp would be too strong.
That night, I remembered why I keep falling in love with this perfume. Her scent reminds me of jasmine trees that my neighbours in Jordan have grown. I would always pass their trees everytime I went to work, and I always stopped just to smell the jasmine and admiring its beautiful scent.

First of all, I shall shamelessly admit that the thing I like most about Terracotta is the bottle. Stunning!
The scent itself isn’t bad at all but brings nothing new to the market; has been done in 2007 with Azuree Soleil Eau Fraiche (Tom Ford collection) and Estee Lauder does it every year since with Bronze Goddess. There are even more options on the market as well like Aloha Tiare by Comptoir Sud Pacifique or even by even Yves Rocher (Monoi Eau des Vahines, Monoi de Tahiti) and Nuxe (Prodigieux Le Parfum)
All of these are interchangeable IMO; tropical white florals (tiare, frangipani, jasmine, orange blossom) mixed with the obligatory coconut and warm oriental notes like vanilla, sandalwood and ylang ylang.
I believe that Terracotta is the best of the bunch because it seems a tiny bit more refined but I’m still not sold. To me these coconut tropical florals reads as sticky and cloying in the heat so would never be my choice. As an oriental perfume lover if I have to part with my favourites due to high temperature that’s because hot days call for fresher and cooling scents. If it wasn’t for that I’d wear Ambre Sultan and Coromandel – which I find far more artistic and pleasant – year round and call it a day.

Pretty, creamy, tropical Guerlain. This has to be one of the best tropical beach fragrances. Notes (from Frgrantica): bergamot, coconut and tiare flower. Its heart includes white florals such as jasmine, ylang-ylang and orange blossom, laid on the sultry base of musk and vanilla.
