Love this fragrance. Feminine fresh and clean

This was a recent birthday present.
A deliciously soapy, clean floral that smells mainly of sweet pea, magnolia and lily of the valley on me. I absolutely love the way it smells, but it’s not really right for me. In Australia you can always get 125ml bottles of this at discount chemist stores for less than $25. Longevity is 4-5 hours, sillage is fairly low so you won’t offend people around you.
I will reserve this for hot days when I don’t want to be overpowered by fragrance, and for wearing to bed in warm weather.
This is definitely a fragrance worth trying if you like clean, fresh florals that are just simply very, very pretty.
Edit – This is stronger than it first seems. It definitely lasts all day and most of the evening. Sillage is moderate so you won’t overpower people around you, but you will definitely be able to smell it on yourself all day. Secondly – Fragrantica lists one of the notes as pineapple leaf. This gives the perfume a sharp, even slightly bitter note, much like marigold gave Vivid by Liz Clairborne some bite. This stops Splendor from being a run of the mill floral. I think it’s probably the main reason for some of the low reviews. This bitterness takes you by suprise, and it lasts as long as the perfume does.

I was looking forward to trying this after reading reviews about it. As its at such a good price I decided to get a bottle. I am so disappointed as its so strong it has given me a headache and I agree with another reviewer who said it just smells of Gardinia except its smells of cheap Gardinia or Gardinia smelling disinfectant!! I have smelt better perfumes at the poundshop. : (

I love the smell of this perfume. I too am shocked by the ratings, because I think it smells amazing! I collect perfumes, and usually buy them based on the bottles appearence. I just think perfume bottles are beautiful. And a lot of the time, when you fin the prettiest bottle, it usually does not smell very good. This one smells amazing, and I heart it 🙂

I absolutely love Splendor,I’ve used it for years and it is one of my all time best loved perfumes. It has very feminine, distinctive.enticing, romantic smell.I always receive a lots of compliments from the people around me,both men and women when I am wearing it,and my husband says he finds its smell irresistible.I love the packaging too,the bottle is so elegant and timeless. The whole product is a sheer Classic and it will always be one of the perfumes I will be buying as long as it’s available.

This is one of my favorite fragrances of all times.Let me say that I cancelled my first order for this perfume after reading the negative reviews from people complaining about this not being the original Splendor.I subsequently re-ordered the perfume after being reassured by the vendor BeautyFans that this is indeed an original Elizabeth Arden product .The vendor told me that he only stocks up from Elizabeth Arden approved manufacturer and offered refund/exchange if I am not satisfied with the product.I have to say that whilst this appear to be an Elizabeth Arden product,it is a really bad replica of the 1998 edition. EA must have altered the formula throughout the years beyond recognizable or they gave their name to a product manifactured by somebody else.Either way this product doesn’t have much in common with the original Splendor perfume, except the pretty bottle. It does feel more like a cheap cologne or air refreshener. It has really strong and very unpleasant nauseating gardenia scent.Even the color is bright yellow, and not whitish as it should be.I bought another bottle from FragranceNet and it was absolutely the same bad quality.I am very disappointed as I really love the original Splendor, but this fragrance is simply cheap and nasty.I designated now both perfumes as air refresheners in my basement

I bought it blind some years ago because it was cheap and a well-known name- shame on me!! Very strong gardenia- type fragrance, very unpleasant and I actually had to cancel my plans for the evening to go home and scrub. I was offended and thought others would be also. A fragrance nightmare experience, partly my own fault. Live and learn. When things are that cheap, there is usually a reason.

This was a recent rediscovery. I found it hiding at the back of my wardrobe and thought I would give it another go. I was checking other websites and they classify it as an Oriental which I find confusing. I don’t have the most refined nose in the world but to me it is just a straight forward white floral scent. It does contain notes of pineapple and apple initially but then it seems to go more like magnolia on me. A very pleasant, clean scent that is perfect for day wear. Very light and it is always on offer in chemists. My 30ml cost less than £10. Can’t be bad to that.

My aunt had a large bottle from the E. Arden discount store in VA; I bought the mini size and after wearing it I realized I really liked it. Luckily, my aunt gave me her large bottle which I wear regularly and have had since 2001. It smells fresh and clean on me and when I wear it I get compliments. I will always have a bottle of Splendor in my collection.

Simple, feminine and classy. Not over the top, something good for every day wear but not if you want to be noticed. Love the smell of it 🙂
