When I first smelled Solar Bloom, it reminded me of the beach I live near, because it has a salty, fizzy texture like sea foam. That said, it is nothing like perfumes that are branded as beach-y scents that largely mimic suntan lotion (e.g. Beach Walk by Maison Margiela Replica). Now that I’ve worn Solar Bloom more, I think of it as the perfume version of white noise. It has texture like static but no loud or distinct notes. The citrus notes quietly come through more like the rind of an orange than the sweet, edible part. I especially liked it at first because I was just getting into perfume at the time, and it was so neutral and unassuming, whereas more prominent scents seemed like overkill to me. I still appreciate its uniqueness and wear it fairly often to the office, although longevity and projection are not the best.
