I´ve been trying this on every time I went into El corte ingles in Madrid and fell in love with it. It´s very exclusive and not many shops sell it in the capital and the price without a discount is 89.55 Euros so its not cheap but you do get 50 ml not 30ml. I managed to get a m eagre 10% off so paid 80.60 euros but was told that in October I will be able to get 25% off so I will probably stock up. It´s a long lasting fragrance- it lasted on me for a good 10 hours! and smelt like I had just had a bath in rose petals or been lying in a rose garden. Its not an artificial rose smell but very natural and fresh. Before buying this I must have tried on about 10 different rose fragranced perfumes but none of them had the staying power and natural smell of SL, they were a lot cheaper – in the region of 35 euros but I thought why have a hamburger when I can have fillet steak and in the long run this will probably last longer as I won´t have to keep spraying it on as it fades like the others I tried. I did also get some generous free Shisheido skincare products with it which should be handy for travelling.

My goodness, with all the fuss about SL being so wonderful I thought this would be much better. Too much citrus for a scent that is supposed to be about rose. Too sharp and crisp. Maybe this is just the wrong kind of rose for me, but on top of that there is so much going on that detracts from the rose’s roseness. When I was a kid someone gave me Avon Sweet Honesty. This reminds me of that plus a bit of wood and the barest touch of spice. So I am wondering why this needs to be so expensive.

This is a very wearable Rose scent, the theme is clear but there is a depth to the scent that gives it great longevity, on me at least. It needs time to develop on the skin so don’t rush in and buy. Give it a full day before u decide! I find this such a relaxing and uplifting scent, which are the traditional properties of rose. I can pull this scent off as a guy, which might give u an idea of the complexity – its sweet but not too sweet and there are fascinating back notes.
