I cannot believe how Andy Tauer can make a perfume that smells just like real Bulgarian rose oil. I don’t know how this man does it but I personally think he’s a genius when it comes to crafting perfume. I blind bought this because I really adore rose fragrances but this is so much more! I don’t know what the notes or note in the dry down is but it smells to me like a resin of some sort. Maybe sweet myrrh? I have no idea but it is beautiful!
Also the price for this line is very reasonable I think. I find this extrait actually has a sticky feel that makes it stick to the skin for hours. Sillage I feel is moderate it might be heavy if I really went to town with it but I treasure it so much I only use about 3 sprays. Plus the sprayer on this is perfect for this type of scent.
I love this scent and want to try more from his lines. If you like a real rose scent this is one to try or get for sure. I am so happy with this I wear it daily or alternate with Calligraphy Rose because it is similar and this way I save on Rose Flash but I love Rose Flash more than CR and I didn’t think that would happen but it did so now I’m hooked on this and will be getting more no question. Recommended if you like a real rose scent that is perfectly done imo. 🙂

Most of my fragrances are purchased online…blind. Therefore, I spend HOURS, days and sometime MONTHS researching a fragrance before purchasing. I own several Tauer perfumes and have a mega crush on Andy Tauer. Such creativity, such passion and such humility. While I adore PHI, I wanted a thicker, deeper, less elegant rose and started researching Rose Flash. I already own and like Calligraphy Rose by Aramis. There have been countless comparisions made online and I was concerned that Rose Flash may be too much like something I already had. Finally, I watched a youtube review, directly comparing the two, but giving Rose Flash the top ranking, so I pulled the trigger. I thought I “knew” what I was getting, but was so very pleasantly surprised to find Rose Flash was different. My oh my! Rose Flash is Rose…Yes! It’s a fat, oily rose. Very ripe, almost over-ripe. If roses dripped a nectar, Rose Flash would be it. It’s a rose, at noon, on a hot day. Drunken bees swirling lazily overhead. But it’s not a fakey, candy sweet rose. A bit of green, thorns and all, waft up and trail behind that thick rosey scent. Calligraphy rose doesn’t share that slight sting of green. It stays very thick and borders on cloying after a bit. Rose Flash smells more natural and real. Someone compared it to the Lush scent Rose Jam, and that is a great comparison…but only much later, for me. I had heard that Rose Flash had beast projection, sillage and lasting power but couldn’t REALLY smell it on myself later in the day. UNTIL I got into the shower the next morning. As the water hit my skin, the most divine rose fragrance wafted up. I looked around my shower, wondering if someone in my family had bought a new shower gel. Nope! It was me. Rose Flash was still going strong over 24 hours later…and smelled very much like the Rose Jam shower gel I used to buy! I got some Rose Flash on my hair towel one week ago and as I sit, doing my makeup, I keep getting little whiffs of rose. I have both Calligraphy Rose and Rose Flash on my hands now. Calligraphy Rose is beautiful, no doubt. Very pulled together, perfectly blended and a little oud-y with a bit more powder. Rose Flash is a little prettier, a little dirtier, a little better. She is the tom-boy who is drop dead gorgeous without trying. Calligraphy Rose has to try a little harder, looks better dressed up. Andy Tauer is a true master!❤️

A sweet jammy rose a la Velvet Rose and Oud, but with slightly more spice and mulled frutiness and less smoke. For the summertime, if desiring a lighter fragrance, but you like darker rose and wood affairs, as I do try this.
The Tauerville line of more affordable fragrance sketches is a great way to try Andy Tauer’s creations and niche-fragrance innovation at large at a fraction of the normal cost. Also love vanilla flash. A tobacco vanilla and spice creation. Also exquisitely done.
Quality, projecttion, and lasting power a great would both recommend and repurchase.

Dry down is sublime.
Rose flash (I have the rollerball) opens in a similar fashion to Rose Vermeille and morphs into something similar to the citric leather of Phi – Rose de Kandahar. It’s primarily fruity rose on the sweet side, staying closer to rose vermeille gourmand (raspberry fruit). Far dry down is less sweet, but still a bit raspberry, almost channeling incense rose. Reviewers liken this to Attar al Kaaba, Rosine Rose Cashmieri and Lush rose jam. The fruity sweet raspberry rose jam opening is in line with modern taste for sweet gourmand scents, but it’s the evolution beyond that which makes this worth 4 lippies. As per Fragrantica reviews, this may include rose absolutely Raspberry, honey, lavender, benzoin, incense, and ambergris, patchouli, vanilla, wood and leather accords. this is 20% parfum extrait.
Very nice and a great intro to andy tauer. This does NOT have the intense tauer base common to Une Rose Chypre which also makes it easier for me to wear, I also recommend his discovery sets.
I’m giving this 4 lippies because I admire the amount of complexity of evolution of this scent for a very reasonable price. It’s more complex and interesting than vanilla flash. (IMO, vanilla flash is more pleasant and easier to wear (less arid powder) than either Chergui or Fumerie Turque). Andy Tauer states that this is his most luxurious rose to date (I also own rose vermeille and PHI and despite my descriptions (written to help those more familiar with his other rose scents), I don’t find this redundant. I also feel that those who dismiss this, may either have skin chemistry that amplifies the sweetness to the point where the other characteristics don’t develop. Or, the wearer doesn’t wait for the dry down but rather judges this from the sweet opening. On my skin chemistry, rose flash is sweeter and richer than rose vermeille; rose vermeille is lighter and greener than rose flash; and Phi, depending on how it’s applied, is richer darker than both. PHi, is in between rose vermeille and rose flash in sweetness, on my skin. This doesn’t seem typical of other reviewers, so I really encourage you to sample for yourself. Tauer makes sampling a quick, easy, reasonably priced and delightful experience.
Note: if you are a rose hater, or are on the fence about a sweet rose accord, don’t bother with this. It took awhile for me to warm up to Andy Tauers aesthetic. I originally thought Une Rose Chypre and Incense rose were not quite right for my skin chemistry in warmer weather, and then suddenly, they clicked and were perfect. Customer service via Tauers website is wonderful, informed, courteous and responsive; the items I have ordered are in pristine condition, well packed and quickly shipped. His thank y notes are beautiful, and I love the presentation of the scents.
