Agree with Wyrmiax’s Review below. i also get a root beer scent at the same time. I have never smelt the first incarnation of miss Dior Cherie that supposedly smelt like caramel popcorn, but I imagine that this was a Guerlain response. Or a diet violet response to Angel. The dry down is a bit rubbery or plastic, and for the money, if I want that, I can reach for tocade. I have a decant from surrender to chance or APC of the EdP.
Similar level of sweetness as rose nacre du desert which I also found too sweet.
I would feel much better about this if it were priced like a Guerlain Aqua Allegoria.

Guerlain’s Quand Vient la Pluie is yet another classic offering from Guerlain which showcases the super-sweet, vanilla-ish “Guerlainade” base to perfection. If you take that base and add black cherries and violets, that is what Quand Vient la Pluie smells like to me. I have to confess that I really don’t like this style of perfume and can’t imagine wearing it, however, for an incredibly sweet perfume, the notes are true and it seems to be of very high quality and well made.
Per The Perfume Court, here are the notes: Top:bergamot, orange blossom and rosemary; Heart: heliotrope, jasmine and violet; Base: patchouli, praline and musks.

Jeez. I had no idea this parfum was so expensive. It’s not all that ethereal to my nose, unlike previous reviews. Instead it’s more like Wyrmiax states, it’s a gourmand scent which I never care for. To me, ethereal is the opposite of gourmand. This is like Apres L’ondee with a romp in vanilla musky sugar. Too heavy for me, and the Guerlain accord seems drowned out by the heavier elements.

L’Heure Bleue with caramel topping. When the Rain Came…you were eating a Twix bar. And wearing L’Heure Bleue.

I could not begin to describe this scent…..Sniffer completely captured my attention by her intriquing review!! This scent to me, is a soft sensual scent that lingers on and close to the skin….Ethereal was used in a previous review, and that is the perfect word for the fragrance!!

I did say I would buy this again, but the truth is I couldn’t afford to. The pure parfum is available only in a $2,600 set! The EDP is available for $400, but contains added musk; I didn’t like it as much as the parfum composition. This review is for the pure parfum.
I got to smell it at a presentation by Guerlain & Bergdorf’s. After trying many of Guerlain’s classic compositions, Quand Vient La Pluie struck me as ethereal and uplifting at the same time. I was impressed by the composition and how good it smelled on everyone who tried it, men and women. It’s not really floral, woody, incensy, or any typical category, though I did enjoy the citrus in the top notes. And they must have used pure orris (iris) root in this, because normally I’m not that crazy about it, but here it makes a soft and wonderful base. I couldn’t pick out any other notes, it’s well blended. I almost wished I hadn’t smelled it, because it is so pure and rich compared to the EDTs I’m used to! I would compare it to the soaring feeling you experience when hearing a pure note sung by an diva. A transformative experience for the perfume aficianando (hope I spelled that right). I’m a bit spoiled now.

This is an exceptionally beautiful fragrance. The name implies “after the rain” and the bottle (which I find weird) is supposed to evoke a modern picture of a dew drop on a leaf. This is a green multifloral which is softened by heliotrope and has medium sillage. Unfortunately, it costs much and is hard to find. I was able to capture a small bit from TPC, and must save it for VERY special occasions.
