If I could only wear one scent for the rest of my life, this would be it. Warm, sweet, whipped cream loveliness. The orange is extremely fleeting on me, lasting minutes at most, and there is the barest trace of tobacco around the edges during the drydown (although I don’t think tobacco is cited as a note). Very expensive? Yes, without a doubt. Too expensive? Nope. I feel better every time I put it on, and how do you put a price on that?

ORANGE CREAMSICLE, WIIII! Seriously, it’s just that, as gourmand as it gets and as sugary as it gets. It litteraly makes me giggile and I enjoyed sampling it a lot. There’s hardly any sophistication or complexity but performance is impressive. Wouldn’t buy a bottle because I can’t see myself craving this amount of sugar often but it was fun to sniff.

Dulcis in Fundo is just gorgeous – one of the most beautifully composed perfumes I have ever smelt before. It starts out with a burst of ripe California oranges just peeled and then leaves you with a sweet vanilla dry-down. This perfume is simple but not boring because it really does take you on a heavenly olefactory journey.
If you love this perfume but don’t want to spend the hefty price tag ($240 for 100ml at Luckyscent), you will likely also fall for Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot, another very special fruity vanilla.

Dulcis in Fundo is a citrus fruity vanilla, with hints of evergreen playing around the edges. Very unisex.

I’ve been searching for the “perfect” vanilla for about 3 years, and this is the best I’ve ever found.
I can only agree with all the other reviewers who describe this as a beautiful fragrance. As others have mentioned, there are plenty of citrus/fruits and vanilla fragrances permeating the market, but never have I found one as lovely as this. To me Dulcis in Fundo smells like fresh apricots, mandarins, and a lovely, soft, sweet, warm vanilla. It definitely begins heavier on the citrus and fruits, then dries down into a wonderful soft, citrus/vanilla combo I can’t get enough of.
Some citruses can be sharp and cloying. Some vanillas can be tooth-aching or bug-sprayish. This manages to render both wonderfully, then blend them to create an achingly beautiful fragrance. Excellent longevity, perfect sillage . . . disheartening price.

This is one of the most profoundly beautiful, rich fragrances it has been my privilege to try on my perfume journey! There is no ‘orange creamsicle” on me, just one of the purest and most stunningly gorgeous citrus vanillas one could imagine. Maybe some people’s noses just don’t recognize such high quality ingredients. Sillage is soft but certainly effective and longevity has been excellent, but then all Profumum’s rate high in those categories. Don’t be put off by some of the reviews, try a sample yourself, you don’t know what you might be missing 🙂 Now that cold weather is here, this is definitely going to be one of my major frags to go to.

and I get no orange at all. What I do get is a gorgeous smoky bourbon vanilla so true it’s almost like extract at times. Rich, thick, and yes, deeper than most vanilla scents out there. It really is incredible and I’m not happy it costs so darn much. I will live without it, but I will dream wistfully of it once my sample is gone.

Love at first sniff! A truly yummy perfume that develops well into a deep vanilla with a sweet orange note. Luckyscent describes it as citrus and Mexican vanilla. Agree with Gourmand below that there is NOTHING else like it. Of course there are many many orange/vanilla combinations, but none as voluptuous and deep as this one. My only regret is that I didn’t buy this earlier because now it’s going for $240USD + $7.95 S&H@ Luckyscent for a 100ml bottle. Pity. A smaller size would make it more accessible and portable.
In case you were wondering….”dulcis in fundo” loosely translates to “the sweetness in the end”. Also, Italian slang for “the ladyparts”!!!

This is the world’s most expensive dreamsicle. Seriously. It pains me to say it, as Profumum is the creator of one of my all-time favorites, Ichnusa. But there is simply nothing – nothing – in this bottle that is worth $215. Save $190 and change, and pick up a bottle of Demeter’s Dreamsicle, which is nearly identical. Or, for an orange-vanilla that is more sophisticated and tinged with a lovely musk, go for L de Lolita Lempicka, which is 75% cheaper, and much more complex than this.
