The opening is weird. A fleeting glimpse of the original Pleasures, popcorn, macadamia nuts, baby powder, a dusty pot pourri rose, generic perfumey smell, and a whiff of sour funky cheesy unwashed feet. The notes don’t sit well with each other. After 30 minutes or so it settles down to a pleasant powdery floral – lilies, roses, and the gentle wafting of freesias in an early summer breeze. I can’t detect any grapefruit, raspberry or litchi so its not fruity or sweet.
Throw is EXTREMELY soft. They had the guts to label it EDP but is more a body spray. The should make a new category, like “skinscent” or something to indicate its going to be a barely there whisper of fragrance.
This scent has got me wondering, who is the end user the designers had in mind? A floral loving, heavily overspraying, granny with dementia who wants to be assured she is still “with it”? A rest home worker for the reassuring yet soft aura of a bowl of pot pourri? This wallflower seems designed to protect us from smelling like perfume. Guaranteed to bring no offense to anyone and remembered by nobody. Not the kind of message I want to give to my loud and proud of it beloved granny. What kind of occasion calls for a barely noticeable aura of lilies and roses? Summer funerals? Perhaps I’ll keep it for that.
I saw a few bloggers who got it for free rave about it being the best flanker ever…I don’t know. Maybe they love it, maybe you will too. But for me I expect more out of an EDP labelled *POP*
