I have been on the hunt for YEARS for an authentically smelling peony fragrance. Not “peony inspired” or “peony-ISH” or “flower with peony as a note but you really can’t smell the peony in it”. A true freshly bloomed peony flower, just like the ones that would come up in the spring in my yard when I was a child.

I went into the L’occitane store fully anticipating that it would probably not smell anything like a fresh peony flower and would smell largely like alcohol. However, it smelled EXACTLY as I have been searching all this time. All I smell is peony, just as I wanted it. Peony is the star here, I don’t really pick up on any other notes strongly.

I only sprayed this on the card, not on my wrist so I don’t know how well this would last but I would gladly layer this with every ancillary product they sell of this.

Sadly, I walked out of the store not purchasing it because I just could not afford to make any new fragrance buys right now. But it is going to be extremely difficult not to march right in and buy it. I might buy the $30 discovery set (travel sizes) before purchasing the full size.
