This is a soft and beautiful scent. I can smell the vanilla and sandalwood. I also have Onyx and love that one as well.

I’m on a fragrance oil kick and I decided to purchase two new Sage Machado fragrances: Sage Diamond and Sage Rose Quartz, and two beloved memories: Sage Onyx and Sage Pearl. They are all lovely, but, somehow I had forgotten how incredibly beautiful Pearl is. One swoop of Pearl on my wrist brought a gush of memories: being pregnant with my daughter, her infancy, snuglly onesies and fluffy pink blankets… I used up my bottle. With so many scents in the world, I went on to dozens of others, but I missed Pearl, and now I will never be without it. I applied Pearl this morning, but didn’t mention its history to my daughter, who is now 10. My daughter asked if she could wear it too, so I applied it to her wrists. She sniffed deeply and got that look only the fragrance-obsessed understands. She said it smells like “paradise”…and then she said, “I feel like I’ve known this smell my whole life. It smells like a part of me.” Isn’t that fascinating? Her olfactory memory of infancy was stimulated by Pearl. Pearl is gentle, soft, creamy, and sweet. It is saved from being a “typical” sweet milk (i.e. Matin Calin) by clear, fresh, sublime Oakmoss. Pearl is perfectly balanced and, in my opinion, it’s an unassuming perfume oil masterpiece.

One of my all time favorite fragrances, I don’t wear this always but I have repurchased and will continue to do so to always have it on hand. I was once wearing this with a man and he couldn’t get enough of how I smelled. He said I was the best thing he had *ever* smelled, and I asked him what it smelled like, and he said there were no words to describe it except just, “Beautiful.”

I absolutely adore this perfume. Its perfectly balanced blend of sandalwood, vanilla and aquatic notes is subtle, seductive, elegant and ethereal all at once. I don’t know if there is a finer perfume out there – I haven’t found it. I’ve tried all the other Sage Machado fragrances, but this is the only one I truly love. Onyx is a distant second, but its cloying, top-heavy sweetness makes me feel a little queasy. Tip: Pearl also blends wonderfully with other vanilla-based scents, which makes it last longer.

This is for the oil. Oh, how I love Pearl. It’s like a warm fuzzy sweater. The sandalwood is dry and soft, but the vanilla sweetens it up just enough giving it a more feminine feel. I find the lasting power of SM oils to be outstanding. It wears close to the skin, yet every time I move my head, or brush my hair I get soft little clouds of scent that surround me and those close to me always seem to compliment. This is swoon material. And seriously, how adorable is the packaging? Too cute!

Smooth vanilla musk, not foody. Very much a skin scent. It’s warm and well blended but there’s just about no sillage and it only lasts three hours or so. Nice, but not fantastic.

This is very sweet upon initial application. Rich, heavy, gloppy vanilla with a hint of smoky depth that seemed promising to me. After a minute or so, the musk begins to assert itself. Twenty or thirty minutes later, the fragrance is nearly equal parts vanilla and musk, a non-heavy skin scent, the sort of unobtrusive, cozy thing that should be sprayed onto a snuggly sweater. Just not my sweater.
This is entirely OK, but it’s really a rather bland fragrance, in my opinion, boring and outrageously overpriced (it’s no more subtle than Coty’s Sand & Sable or Vanilla Fields). Not worth a full bottle.

Loved this product, am looking for a dupe since Ulta got rid of all their big round single eyeshadows. I use this as a base or as an all over single eyeshadow, no glittery shimmery stuff, just very nice.

This shadow creates such an ethereal, gorgeous highlight….I love subtle makeup and this is absolute highlighting perfection, IMO. Works for eyes, cheekbones, cupid’s bow….it’s really, really pretty.

A subtle pink opal shadow. The base doesn’t really show on my lids and it blends only giving me the opal effect. For $3 it’s really not bad, but if your looking for extreme pigment then this is not it. It gives just enough for me though, and because of that I can use it more. Anything with more pigment and you’ll be limited to products that work with it.

Love it. I initially bought MAC’s Seedy Pearl because I”ve been looking for something with a pink duochrome to it to use as a highlighter and on top of other shades. But Ulta’s Pearl shadow has a nice white, frosty base to it, which is what I need. I can see myself using this shadow constantly on my brows, over darker colors, and on my cheeks. Thanks, Ulta!
*Edit 4/8/10 – I bumped this from 5 down to 3 lippies. I really can’t get much product payoff with a brush from this. Not the HG I thought it would ultimately be….

Great highlighter or, for me, an all over wash that makes my eyes light up

I love this shadow! It’s pretty much MAC Pink Opal pigment in pan form! It’s also what MAC Porcelain Pink MSF looks like on my skin. I love it. A lot of people try to keep me from buying Ulta brand shadows but I think theyre very high quality. This one is very pigmented, shows up on my skin exactly how it looks in the pan and can say I adore it. I have only had it for a few days but have been wearing it ever since. I’ve been pairing it up with purples and teals. A definite must buy 🙂

Pearl is lovely (this is for the roll on oil).
I can however achieve almost similar by mixing sandalwood oil with TBS vanilla oil.
Also i mixed pearl and EG to get skin musk oil!!!
Since the scent is so pretty nevertheless and its packaging is so cute i give it the 5 lippies.
For the reasons above i wouldn’t buy this but would love to have more if given as a swap!
Update 30/06/2006: I loved this in EDT and it is kinder to the nose! Its lovely and i would definately re-purchase.

I think this is nice but nothing special. I adore Sage Onyx which is very distinctive but Pearl is kind of bland and boring to me. Still, many vanillas make me sick and this one does not at all. It’s a very nice skin-type scent but just a little too boring for my tastes. I mix it with other things like Sandlewood and Amber to bump it up a notch. I’ll use it up but won’t repurchase.

This is addictive, everytime I catch scent of this I feel ‘better’ – it has this effect on you….
Feminine, clean, warm, musky but light – a great day time fragrance, with it’s sister onyx for evening.
WHY is this SO expensive? It’s the tiniest bottle- although I love the pretty packaging and roll on applicator.
I have the EDT as well and take the oil out in my handbag for reapplication, whilst the edt is my all over body spray…..
