Notes from Fragrantica:
lime, basil, lily, bergamot, thyme, mandarin orange, violet, woody notes, indonesian patchouli leaf, oakmoss and vetiver.
Once again, another blind buy that I just never ever wore. I gave out a few decants of this one, but never actually tried it myself.
I am such an idiot. This is lovely. It opens nice and citrusy and crisply minty—the first 5 minutes are HEAVEN.
Then the rollercoaster starts. My entire 18 minute drive to work was a combination of “Ooh pretty citrus” and “omg cat pee cat pee make it stop” —but shortly thereafter it warmed up into an earthy grassy delight where it stayed for several hours. It reminds me of old school Gap Grass with more depth, similar to Anisia Bella in the feel of it. Truly lovely.

This one is gorgeous, purchased earlier this year during a major early spring shopping trip. So reminds me of one of the first warm days of the year. Bought some great summer pieces that day for my wardrobe as well. Definatly will re-purchase, also pairs great with Little Italy, and So New York.

I agree with those who say it’s better than Jo Malone’s Lime Basil Mandarin. I don’t know if I love it enough to buy a big bottle, but it’s light and crisp and citrusy, and simple enough to layer with other things.

I love to wear citrus perfumes, Little Italy by bond is also a favourite, but every now and then they can smell a bit immature.
Not Nouveau Bowery, which has a mature, perfumy, but still fresh and lively feel to it. It is slightly floral to my nose, but not too overwhelming.
Overall, a fabulous perfume.

Limes. And like one reviewer said, more like a lime soda kind of lime than any kind of interesting lime. I really don’t get the basil at all. Boringly one-note.

I LOVE THIS. LIME, BASIL, LILY.
WAY BETTER THAN LIME, BASIL, MANDARIN.
SORRY JO. YOU LOSE.

Nouveau Bowery opens with a lovely sparkling note that makes me think of relaxing on a NY rooftop on a summer evening having a lime and basil cocktail. Fresh, sophisticated, crisp…quite good so far. However, this is not destined to remain the case. I shared an apt. once (quite near the Bowery actually) with a good friend who went through a blessedly brief phase of being a rather hyper health food fanatic – nothing against health food types, I’m a vegetarian myself, but a very non-militant one. Anyway, during this phase she’d regularly cook up a murky green herbal soup (more like a witch’s brew) which was supposedly excellent for cleansing the system. Sadly, Nouveau Bowery ends up smelling uncomfortably like that soup. I can’t shake the association.

I love green scents and I adore oakmoss and vetiver, so I had high hopes for my first venture into the Bond No. 9 line. Sadly, this was just putrid on my skin. Instead of the wonderful green, spicy scent that I had read reports of, I got something that smelled like lime soda that had gone flat while sitting in a stagnant rain gutter. I’m still curious to try the rest of my Bond No. 9 samples, but this one has given me pause.

Wow… what a gorgeous, clean, slightly woody-spicy fragrance! Nouveau Bowery is light and refreshing, yet complex and sophisticated. I don’t find it stereotypically “masculine” at all – I think it might work on men or women (it’s body chemistry that matters, folks.) I tend to gravitate toward either green or spicy scents, and this combines the better aspects of both. I would feel comfortable wearing this absolutely anywhere, anytime. *Update* – Santa brought me a bottle of Nouveau Bowery – it’s delicious in the winter; can’t wait to wear it in warm weather!

I bought this two years ago, during my lime/basil phase. Recently, it’s been on the shelf but now I’m ready to spritz with wild abandon. This is similar to but better than Jo Malone’s Lime Basil Mandarin. It’s more floral and less one-dimensional. I’m giving it a “5” for packaging only because I bought a cute pink sprayer for my plain, boring bottle! UPDATE: If you’re looking for a good, fresh spring fragrance check this one out. Jo Malone LBM gets all the attention. I think Nouveau Bowery is more feminine. You can layer it with the LBM body lotion.
