I had gotten a mini bottle of this years ago, and really enjoyed it. When I saw a full size bottle for about $10 recently, I grabbed it. Ahhh…just as lovely as I remembered.
This fragrance is so nice. Warm, powdery, ambery, slightly sweet. It’s just really easy to wear and feels like comfy pajamas or something – a comfort fragrance. I love fragrances like this and it feels like “me” – to give you an idea, I love Obsession and Tabu, and even though this is more tame than those, it’s definitely right up my alley (sweet-powdery-musk). It’s more of a “day” fragrance, but wearable any time of year too.
It’s soft but it’s definitely there. Throughout the day I’ll get little wafts of a wonderful scent and then I’ll remember it’s me.
This scent feels like a warm hug. Try it!

I blind bought a bunch of cheap thrills (yasssss the best kind of thing when u find a treasure treat!) from fragrancenet.com about $3.75 for a small bottle I forgot the size I think 0.5oz? I could be wrong. I see I’ve over paid lol that’s like impossible to fathom since this doesn’t smell at all cheap. Dana/Jovan/Coty makes some amazing perfumes for cheap! I got like 10 perfumes for $100 (1 was a gift set), I love Toujours Moi it reminds me of old skool 70s chic soft lipgloss, dewy faces, the simple fresh girl next door who wore TM, unobtrusively sexy in a powdery musky patchouli sandalwood smoky way. I tots do not ever put an age on perfume I still wear Bonne bell skin musk & I wear EL Youth Dew bath oil unabashedly associated w teens (ok maybe in 1976) & the matronly Youth Dew ppl associate w senior citizens but if u like a cozy scent like those that is chic, simple yet elegant, not in ur face oh & did i mention EXCELLENT PRICE POINTE even broke girls like me can smell chic & alluring I can see this like being worn in the movie “Boogie Nights” I can’t believe how long this lasts I stop & catch whiffs of myself, I think I may wear this to a Christian Meeting sometime soon becoz of all the sisters all lean in to hug & I’m constantly complimented on me smelling fabulous!

I spritzed this on about 30 mins ago and I am luxuriating ine gorgeousness of it all.. it envelops me cozily and reaches outward in a sweet, lovely way to others. It is my signature perfume (I am 56) and has been since I was a teenager. My mother, in fact, wore this.. it was her signature scent.. I’d sit on my parents’ bed, watching my beautiful, glamourous mother preparing to go out with dad for an Officer’s Club bash or the like and I was absolutely enchanted. It remains in my memories to this day.. 40+ years later (I believe it was by Dana then and is by Coty today, or the other way around lol) I still melt from it. I get more compliments from men and others from this fragrance than ANY other one I wear.. always. Once I went to my then-boyfriend’s family house for Thanksgiving and I was wearing it.. as I met his family, including his sister’s big cowboy (literally) husband gave me a little hug that turned into a huuuuge one where he wouldn’t let go lol, bellowing aloud that I smelled like the 4th grade teacher he’d had a major crush on so many years ago! It is sweet, incensy, powdery, amber, orange blossom (maybe), just the most gorgeous fragrance of any scent I have ever worn. I take breaks from it for like 3-4 yrs at a time but then the autumn comes that leads me home once again and I am in love with it. DH loves it.. I mean he has complimented me more profusely on others scents but this one is a little bit more often than others. He says it reminds me of when we used to go to a certain place years ago.. somewhere where after my shower I would always apply this beauticious thing and could rely on smelling my best and be as appealing as possible. Try it! It is very economical (shockingly) and I’ll never be without it. I just sprayed on a couple sprtizes of the last of my current bottle.. thankfully I have a brand new one — once again, as always — with a brand new one. It is such a winner on me! x

I wore this back in 1980 maybe. I was quite young and this was an affordable fragrance. I’ve always leaned toward the orientals.
I revisited this several years ago after not having smelled it for a long time. I have both the Corday Natural Atomizer spray and the little 70’s flat round bottle with the blue round top. The juice in that bottle is very darkened and rich.
Last evening after my shower I put a few drops on my wrists and décolletage. Later at bedtime I kept getting whiffs of something sweet and beautiful. It was the Toujours Moi. So pretty!
I can still smell it’s quiet spice on my skin this morning. I may have to explore the newer version but I have an almost full bottle of the Corday spray. The little splash bottle which is also Corday has the best stuff in it and it’s reduced to almost a perfume consistency. A treasure!
Try it if you like the sweet spicy orientals.

Like the “poor woman’s HABANITA”, perhaps. Fruit, booze, flowers, spices, balsams and woods meld into a nostalgic, bold brew leaning surprisingly into the masculine. Autumnal perhaps, smells a deep amber color. Not as seductive/musky as TABU… more noble and imperial; not nearly as vanilla-sweet as SHALIMAR; TM is more about nutmeg, while L’ORIGAN is about clove/carnation. With development on the skin, it reveals itself to be more complex than it initially seems. In far drydown, it’s a glowing powdery/spicy pomander, surprisingly erotic and Art Deco stylish, like a flapper wearing only a rabbit-fur skirt. A surprising castoreum note in the base gives the whole scent an old-school swank and heft. Drugstore stuff, but it has nothing to be ashamed of at all: amazingly rich, nuanced, natural, good-smelling and nostalgic. [What bestows the somewhat vinegar-like note to the midrange? Benzoin. Pure natural gum benzoin smells vanilla-like, but also slightly vinegar-sour.]
TETE: Aldehydes, cognac, bergamot, peach, plum, petitgrain, lemon, raspberry, almond, thyme;
COEUR: Lavender, nutmeg, lilac, ylang-ylang, rose, geranium, clove, jasmin, benzoin, hay;
FOND: Amber, tonka, sandalwood, vetiver, patchouly, oakmoss, vanilla, castoreum.

This is a great drugstore classic… IF you haven’t already smelled/owned Molinard’s Habanita. Unfortunately, I’ve been spoiled rotten by Habanita & when I finally blind-bought Toujours Moi last year after coveting it for so long, needless to say, I was rather disappointed. Yes, they bear a strong resemblance to each other indeed — both debuted in 1921 (TM was first, of course, produced by Corday before Dana bought the manufacturing rights in 1923), both are woody orientals, with Habanita perfecting the recipe further by adding a good dose of femme fatale sex appeal. Plus, Habanita has that delicious pipe tobacco/leather accord I love, minus the sour vinegar-like note in TM which I’m not very fond of (what note or combination of notes produce that vinegar effect, I wonder?). The longevity is ASTOUNDING (more than 12 hours on my skin) & this is a cologne! Really great value for money.
*From Michael Edwards:
Fragrance Family: Rich Woody Oriental
Notes:
Top: Lavender, Bergamot, Cinnamon, Pimento (Allspice)
Heart: Ylang-ylang, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley (Muguet)
Base: Vanilla, Musk, Sandalwood

If you dont like vintage spicy, oriental with the scent of sandalwood and patchouli then this isnt for you. It isnt fruity and has slight florals to it but i love it. Its warm and i love thst its been around since the 20s. i think ill keep this in rotation.

This scent reminds me of the old style drug stores that had a soda fountain on one side. There’s a blast of syrupy cola, then a medicinal vicks vapor rub in the back near the pharmacy, and finally talcum powder in the baby aisle.

One day I smelled this on a wealthy lady and inquired the name of her fragrance . She answered “Tojours Moi “. That jogged my memory of a perfume on my grandmother’s old vanity . I went and bought a bottle and decided this is a classic that is worth far more than the meager price it fetches . This is spicy , slightly sweet , powdery in a vintage retro style , and totally femonine. It has very good lasting power and is nice for any season or occasion . A very warm and spicy classic that is a fabulous value !

I was shocked when I saw my grandma’s perfume rated so high at MUA. I love you grandma, but Joujours Moi was too heavy and strong. It’s a very masculine perfumeI am sorry but smelling like an astray, smoke or tobacco is not a turn on. There is a reason why smoking has been banned in many public places. Yes there are some resemblance between Toujours Moi and Shalimar. They both are heavy, strong, masculine, macho, synthetic , chemical , acrid, jolted and bringing shock to your system. However, it seems like there are many fans of this fragrance so I hope one day in the distant future when my senses become dull through the ages, I might come to appreciate this fragrance. My Grandma loves this fragrance. This is her holy grail scent and she has never deviated away from it. She celebrated her 93 years young birthdate last year. She was a sweet gentle soul. RIP grandma just joined the angels in heaven this year. My grandfather was a heavy ephysema afflicted smoker and it could explain why she was attracted to the fragrant. Second hand smoking does a lot to you. It might be right for some people, But for now, it’s just too overwhelming for my system
