2014 batch code, so it has the oakmoss back into it (from 2013) to restore its vintage soul. At first spray the jumble of notes shocks me, but given time to warm up its lovely. At first I get the smell of a mechanics garage, petrol mixed with metal filings and dust, green notes, freshly squeezed limes, and old nuts. After 20 minutes it morphs into lovely fresh baked cinnamon biscuits, leather, medicinal bandaids, cedarwood shavings, a hint of resinous soap, and fresh green notes in the background. Thank goodness the old nuts (amber?) smell fades into the background very quickly.
I brought this as it featured peaches, and it does. But not a fresh sweet peach. In Mitsouko it smells like almost overcooked, richy caramelised peaches in a crumb topped pie dusted with cinnamon. This is the freshly baked cinnamon biscuits I can smell. That golden toasty note that makes toast, coffee, and anything toasted/roasted/caramelised so intriguing makes this perfume so inviting.
I love how this perfume develops different facets as it wears. After a few hours the florals emerge for me. I sense Ylang-Ylang and Lilacs that grow in my neighbours garden every summer, perhaps Jasmine. Now and then I get fresh rose petals. Not the dusty Pot Pourri rose you find in Stella EDT by Stella McCartney which smells old, tired and cloying to me.
The green resinous part reminds me of Clinique Aromatic Elixir, or Mens cologne but lighter, smoother, and its balanced out by the spicy bakery scent so it doesn’t feel old lady nor masculine to me.
Good throw.. Just one spray gives me an aura when someone leans in close, but doesn’t radiate out far to annoy. And it lasts. One spray lasts me half the day. Definitely worth the cost per spray if you like the scent. Maybe get a sample first as its sophisticated, not a sweet & cheap crowd pleaser. Oh, and as of this year (2019), Mitsouko is 100 years old. Literally a century and still selling well. Happy Birthday Misouko!

When I first sprayed this perfume on, my stomach basically dropped. I was SO disappointed. It reminded me of an old cheap perfume that I found in my mums garage when I was 4, and even as a small kid I thought it smelt gross & like an old lady. I had such high hopes.
But then, I sorta stopped thinking about it and resigned myself to washing it off later. Then, shortly after, I was like holy S**T what is that amazing smell?! It was me!!! I only used one spritz and its the perfect strength, especially for an EDT.
I’m not gonna harp on about base notes and what I can smell in this, since I am useless at that, but what I can say is give this a go, wait for the dry down and don’t freak out when you first spritz it. You won’t be disappointed.

Classy, sophisticated, sexy & simply stunning!!! This is your evening perfume with that little black dress with pearls. I think this perfume is more for the over 40’s but that’s not to say someone younger cannot wear it but think it’s probably suited to a more mature woman. Reminds me of my Mum who wore perfumes like this when I was a child. Very sort of 1950’s type perfume. I hope Guerlain never stop making this perfume.
Oh and I have the Edt which is very long lasting.
