It’s niche but not obnoxious. Citrea is the ONLY long lasting citrus perfume I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried so many. I tend to stay away from these types of scents because the pay off just isn’t worth it, I’m so glad I gave this one a shot because it’s absolutely perfect for the summer. These are the notes according to the store website (tigerlily in SF):
rosewood, lemon, orange, frankincense, Haitian vetiver, tonka bean, woody notes, ambroxan
On me, I first smell a bright lemon and orange, followed by a rosewood that I can’t even adequately describe. Rosewood is an uncommon note but it’s so beautiful. It’s tart and woody, slightly sweet and warm. The vetiver and frankincense follow and lead into a luscious dry down that is STILL citrusy and tart! I can smell the tonka (one of my favorite notes) and ambroxan, but thats in addition to the bright, beautiful citrus. I’ve never smelled anything like it. If you love clean citrusy fragrances but hate that they fade within a few minutes, you need to try this. The price is $65.00 for 15 mL. I use 2 sprays (all I need to smell like this all day) so I suspect I won’t be running out too quickly. I think the price is about average for niche perfumes.
I just recently moved to California and being a perfume lover, stopped into Tigerlily in SF (recommended to me by fellow new yorkers who have visited). I have already smelled nearly everything there except for perfumes from this little brand called Mirus. I nearly missed it due to the packaging being pretty simple but the blue wax seal caught my eye. I actually went back and bought a few more from this brand and a couple from other brands that I also intend on reviewing.
Overall: A+, highly recommended to those seeking a bright citrus perfume that actually has longevity and sillage.
