I had a bit of time to myself yesterday and was walking through town window shopping, no intention of buying anything when I came across a Jo Malone stand. I spritz some fragrances on myself and sniffed away at all the different colognes – Mimosa and Cardamom stood out to me straight away, it is such a soft, creamy, feminine, sweet, well rounded sophisticated scent, it even smells expensive – there is nothing cheap about it. So I sprayed some on my wrist and wandered off from the stall.
While walking around the department store I couldnt stop sniffing my wrist and after a while I noticed the scent wasnt weakening like other Jo Malone colognes tend to do, it was also stronger than the others as I could smell it without having to lift my arm to my face. It was noticeable without being strong or over bearing so I went back to purchase to a full bottle. I am now broke af for the rest of the week as a result and will be living on toast and noodles until pay day this Thursday but it’s worth it. I have a thing about perfumes, theyre so beautiful and personal and every scent is like a little time capsule, they take me back to certain times and places, feelings and people. This perfume will be my Summer scent and ill forever connect it to this time in my life where so much is happening and changing.
This and peony and blush suede are my favorite Jo Malone colognes and I will come back to them forever. They also layer very nicely together although Mimosa and Cardamom works beautifully with Orange Blossom.

The first time I smelled Mimosa & Cardamom I knew I needed a bottle. It’s such a pleasant fragrance. It reminds me a bit of “Lei” by Emporio Armani (also known as “She”) or even Victoria Secret Dream Angels Heavenly. This is just very soft and feminine. It’s definitely what it says it is- mimosa and cardamom, balanced together and done softly. There’s nothing gourmand, there’s no patchouli or woods, there’s no fruit. It’s very, very lightly green and earthy because it IS floral and herbal in nature, but really it’s just a soft floral.
You might like Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom if you like Emporio Armani Lei/She, Victoria Secret Dream Angels Heavenly, Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline, Dior Pure Poison, or Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods.
Like most Jo Malones, this has very soft sillage and longevity. It’s not even strong on fabrics/clothes. I’ve even tried to make it last longer by spraying it on the inside of my elbows, but it’s still fleeting. If you work in an office environment where coworkers constantly complain about fragrances, then you might want to try this. It could offend only the most passionate of perfume-haters.

Save you money and go get Bobbi Brown’s “Bobbi’s party” instead. This reminds me so much of that scent and longer lasting.

My favorite fragrance ever. I plan on wearing it at my wedding

This scent smells absolutely nothing like I expected. There’s more honey, less spice, and quite a bit of powder. The scent is a sort of odd mix of notes. There are spicy notes, but they don’t smell like cardamom. Rather, they’re more generic. The non spicy elements (the mimosa, presumably) smells like a combination of powdery and aquatic notes. The powder is not the good kind of powder. I love powdery notes in some cases (violet is one of my very favorite scents), but this smells like rancid baby powder. I’m sad because this scent sounded so amazing, but in reality it’s not that great.

8/16/16-I am editing my review: I recently sampled Cardamom & Mimosa again after I’d initially sampled it when it first came out. I think Jo Malone must have tweeked this scent after it was first launched based on the feedback she’d received. Now the scent does smell a lot stronger than it did when I first sampled it. In fact, it smelled so good, I went back and bought a small sized bottle. It is a beautiful smelling scent and I can still smell a faint whiff of it six hours later. At three hours it was still very detectable. I still don’t think it is spicy smelling but it is quite gorgeous and I do love it. I would buy it again.
Original review: I would add to the review Tessture made that the scent in person does not smell anything like the scent strip in magazines. The scent in person is very soft, not very spicy at all and on me, Jo Malone scents do not last very long. So definitely sample it first before buying otherwise you may be disappointed. I loved the scent strip in the magazine, it had a very unique scent and there was some power in it. I sampled the fragrance in person before I smelled it in scent strip. For me, if the scent smelled like it did in the scent strip and it lasted at least a while, say 3 hours, it would be a keeper. I love cardamom & spices as I love indian food, masala tea & chai & IMHO, this perfume just does not have enough cardamom scent & it would be even better if some of the other spices that are in chai were added, such as cinnamon, ginger, clove & allspice.

Candy-tart, watery Mimosa with a warm, woody base of spice that doesn’t read as cardamom but adds a lovely warmth. Very pretty.

I’ve smelled it before. Maybe Demeter Laundromat, I think? Or something from the gap or American Eagle… I’m leaning towards Laundromat. Nice, pretty, clean, soapy floral. Not green, but creamy with a tad of spice. Good warm weather scent, great for those not wanting to upset co-workers, but unremarkable and unoriginal for me. I got a sample from Nordstrom and sent it on to my mother. She’ll like its light touch.

This delightful new fragrance from Jo is very unique and refreshing for the fall/winter season. I do not know “all” of the notes and the fragrance lingo so I’ll skip it and just let you know that a couple of spritzes of this in the morning and I smell terrific all day, compliments galore. To me it smells creamy, warm, delicious and expensive, which it is indeed, but I can always seem to scrape up the $$ for Jo Malone. Love..

Powdery and generic on me, and I usually do well with spice. Longer lasting (again, on me) than many other of the JMs I love and wear, which I guess speaks to karma. This is the only JM I’ve had that I would not repurchase.
