I go through phases where I am obsessed with fragrance collecting. Just found a 1 oz of this at Target in my area for 8.98 and had to try it. It does remind me of JS Fancy but they are not exactly alike. This fragrance lasts…it’s like the energizer bunny. Very foodie smelling. I can smell the saltiness as well though. It’s pretty nicely balanced and I feel like it suits almost any age. I’m wearing it in the summer right now and I find Fancy to be a more winter fragrance but this could work in any season. Overapplication could cause it to be cloying. If you don’t like fruity caramel scents, avoid this. I feel like it could be at home at a nice restaurant or a college coffee shop. Feels like being wrapped in my favorite fuzzy blanket.

I cannot believe the low ratings this fragrance has, but I know fragrance is so very subjective and personal. And I rarely go with the mainstream, anyway..:/ lol 😉
That said, I am surprised by how well I am enjoying this fragrance!!
I got suckered in by the very pretty, feminine bottle. I typically do not care what a bottle looks like (one of my ageless all-time old-time faves, Angel, by Thierry Mugler, I actually disdain the bottle..it is pretty and I get the cutesy aspect of it, but I would much rather it came in a simple bottle), but this bottle, plus the very feminine. girly scent, I just had to have.
I tend to go for more mature (not old lady) fragrances, and while to me, this seems more girly. I am thinking, generally speaking, teens and 20-somethings and maybe even 30-somethings would be more geared towards liking this. I am in my mid-40’s and to me, I typically feel like I’ve long since ‘outgrown’ this type of fragrance..BUT..I actually quite like it! I bought this in the Summer, for a fun, girly, carefree type of scent. And yes, I do love the bottle, and the bottle feels/fits nicely in the hand when spraying (weird quirk, I know, but I like it!).
This fragrance lasts on me a good 8 to 10 hours, and even 12 hours actually. VERY LONG LASTING, and the best part is, it dries down the same scent on me as when first sprayed. This also smells the same on me as when sprayed on the tester sheet, so it is nice that my body chemistry does not alter the scent (which, imho, is the mark of a truly great fragrance).
One of the fragrance sites lists this as being ideal for Fall and Winter, but to me, it is great for Summer, year-round, really. That same site lists the description as: “The composition begins with delicious aromas of salty caramelized apple and star anise combined with freshness of bergamot and roasted almond scent. Sensual honeysuckle is mixed with delicate freesia and lily of the valley, creating the feminine core. Warm musk, patchouli, tonka bean and vanilla from Madagascar are placed in the subtle oriental base.” –Little wonder I love this fragrance–as I love all of the notes in it!
Can’t say for sure if I would re-purchase, as I have a lot of fragrance to work through, and to me, this is likely a one-time only purchase (that I quite enjoy!), but I would not object to re-purchasing it, and would definitely consider re-purchasing! So, in that aspect, I said yes, I would re-purchase. Is this my holy-grail, every-day, go-to fragrance..? No, by no means..But it is a lovely, feminine (and imho, it is actually a great year-round scent!–except maybe not for Spring..?) and the bottle is just sooo very pretty! Again, I rarely get ‘suckered in’ by pretty or cutesy bottles, but something about this, I just had to have, and love!! (And FWIW, I am not necessarily a Mariah Carey fan, but it is cool that this is manufactured by Elizabeth Arden, a great company!)

I’m a bit of a perfume snob, so I was very surprised by how much I enjoy this. Picked it up for a song at a discount store and figured I could find a home for it if I didn’t like it, but I would buy it again for myself. It’s not as sweet as the notes suggest…the florals freshen and lift the scent. Overall, it’s very soft and stays close to the skin. If you like scents like the original Hanae Mori, give this a try.

Let me start by saying I am a perfume junkie..some women buy shoes, pocketbooks, clothes…I buy perfume. I have everything ranging from your 150$ bottle, to your 12$ bottle. I personally like the sweet smelling perfumes. This is probably one of my top 3 favorite fragrances I have ever smelled…and that is saying ALOT. Get compliments everytime I wear it. Men, women, young, old. The best way I can describe it is that it smells like someone poured hot caramel all over you…and then put a scoop of vanillla ice cream on top.
Wow. It also has tremendous lasting power, which is especially important to me. I LOVE THIS PERFUME!!!!!!! Men also especially seem to like this….maybe its the food thing! I will literally spray some on myself for no reason just to smell it. THATS how much I like it.. If you like sweet smelling fragrances, there is NONE better IMO..

First on the skin, I got a super sweet salted caramel with buried, barely-there floral notes, then it dried rapidly to a sweet, boring floral and was gone in two hours. Uninspiring, not worth the effort of applying. All that being said, it probably won’t offend anyone and it was a pleasant scent if you like super sweet gourmands.

This is the first perfume i’ve ever had to actually wash off because i couldn’t stand it on my wrists. Yuck!

This smells like pineapple soda. Dreams is an extremely sweet candy fruity gourmand scent. I think the heavy caramel and synthetic vanilla make the apple note so sweet it is almost unrecognizable. It’s definitely more like green apple candy than a true apple. I don’t get any anise or patchouli, for those who dislike such notes. There is a similarity to JS Fancy but I much prefer Fancy. It smells more warm and caramelized whereas Dreams is extremely sharp to my nose and almost too sweet. I am a lover of Fantasy, Fancy, TM Angel, Prada Candy, etc. so I definitely appreciate tooth-achingly sweet scents but this one is just too syrupy and artificial. I want to like it but the initial spray is unbearable. It’s ultimately like a poor quality Prada Candy mixed with Fancy and splashed with jello mix. This was a blind buy encouraged by all the reviews that hail this as a delicious caramel fragrance. Personally, I’ll stick with Fancy.

So I’m shopping the cosmetics aisle of a drugstore talking to the Beauty Advisor, and she suggests Mariah Carey’s Dreams perfume. The Beauty Advisor goes on enthusiastically telling me how much she adores the fragrance of this perfume and how it makes her feel. Out comes the bottle for a spritz.
What a lovely bottle! I love the curvature, reminding me of perhaps a champagne flute. The topper, typical of Mariah and her fascination with these diurnal insects, is of three translucent butterflies, designed to appear as if they are fluttering about the top of the bottle. The name, Dreams, is embossed in the glass with a miniature butterfly at the base.
The bottle is far more elegant than the juice inside. The bottle is the selling point of Dreams. Other than the butterflies made of plastic, which I understand in today’s marketing, the bottle is quite pretty. The target audience probably couldn’t afford what the company would charge for a topper made of real glass butterflies that would have taken away the cheesy look. But we’re not talking vintage Lalique here either. What’s inside is no more than common sweet and warm caramel-vanilla body spray. Simply put.
Frankly, it seems more like a body spray than an Eau de Parfum. It’s lasting power is minimal and its projection is no more than a skin scent for me. Nose to the bone on this one and I’ve been wearing it off and on for over a week. This is a light, gentle scent that can be seasonless, depending on the age group wearing it.
Caramel is the star of this fragrance and keeps its place throughout the run of the perfume. The almonds lend a salty flair to the caramel, keeping it less sweet for the first 30 minutes or so until the vanilla kicks in ever so lightly to make Dreams a sweeter experience. A very light, very gentle musk underlies Dreams so innocently you hardly know it’s there. Patchouli is listed also, and if you’re worried about it, don’t be. I couldn’t even smell it. After about an hour, its time to re-spray.
If you put your nose to your skin and inhale deeply, you can experience a definite Werther’s candy shop experience. Maybe Dreams is a good name for this one because its really hard for me to experience this frag during my waking hours.
It’s a safe bet for much younger women and those entering the fragrance world as a gift. It’s just unobtrusive, uncontrary, so subtle and simple. Definitely not a winter frag, a perfume like this would be consumed by the elements. I can see it worn in warmer weather to bring out its simplicity.
Thank goodness it can be found at deep discount outlets for much less than retail prices, since projection and longevity are kept at minimum standards. It’s not a perfume worth paying full price for by any means.
Its only saving grace is the bottle and that’s only if you like butterflies for your collection.
Dreams will make a good spritzer for bed-time use since you won’t be awake long enough to appreciate how little it really lasts on your skin. Spraying it on linens or scarves may make it last longer.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Salted Caramel Apple, Star Anise, Roasted Almond.
Middle Notes: Freesia, Honeysuckle, Lily-Of-The-Valley.
Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Madagascan Vanilla, Patchouli, Musk.

I saw this in a tester, so I sprayed some as I was leaving the store. The scent smelled soo good and lasted. As the previous reviewer stated, it was similar to Vera Wang Princes. I felt it was a bit stronger with better lasting power. I smelled the sweet caramel, but it was definitely a grown up version of that type of scent. I never purchased this, but if I had the funds, I would. Again, this was the smell from the tester I sprayed myself with, but I would go out and buy it.

I added the notes first because it was the notes that inspired me to buy this unsniffed (big risk, I know). The salted caramel had me intrigued and I couldn’t resist. It is actually a pretty good fragrance. It has good sillage and lasting power on my skin, which is a huge plus for me. I get very disappointed spending money on a fragrance, only to have it disappear within an hour. I do smell the salted caramel part, which is very well done and different. This is a sweet (and a little salty) interesting scent. However, it did remind me slightly of Vera Wang Princess. Although the florals came out on me a bit more in Dreams. They both have a similar dry down, in my opinion. If you like Princess or Prada Candy, I would certainly recommend you try it.
