   One review said this smelled like Hoji Cha, one of my favorite all time teas, but I didn’t get that. I did get a minty jasmine tea, very fresh and summer-like. It’s pretty and light, but it’s not something I would work through a whole bottle of.

   First off: I’m quite picky meanwhile when it comes to perfume, especially since many of them, which were good in the past, have been reformulated and turned into olfactory chemical ponds due to new so called security measures.

   Having said that I was looking for a real tea scent for years. I’ve tried so many, all the Bvlgari tea scents, and pretty much anything I could get my hands on that said tea scent. Result: I never really liked one yet, there was always side notes in them I just didn’t like, so I never bought any although I think I have tested about 30 tea scents over the years.
   So, now I got a sample of Replica’s “Tea Escape”. I didn’t have much hope although the description sounded so promising. Green Tea and Matcha, Jasmine, and Mate tea, inspired by a day in Tokyo, the busy city, and you come into a cosy home, have a bowl of Matcha and just relax.

   And what can I say? This is the most beautiful tea scent I have ever tried. It is real tea I can smell, real fresh Matcha and real Mate, combined with a very gentle and soft sweetness, nothing sugary (which would annoy me again) just a very soft sweetness of planty jasmine in the basenote. No disturbing side notes of woods, patchouly or a hundred flowers, just real teas, freshness, softness, total relaxation. It also isn’ t a typical summer or winter scent, it can be worn in any season.

   I immediately bought the original size and am totally addicted to this scent, especially after an exhausting day, after a long shower, with a real cup of matcha or jasmine green tea, one of the best and most special scents I have in my collection.

   Highly recommended, especially for scent sensitive and picky people who don’t like the typical mainstream drugstore perfumes.

   disclaimer: i love green tea scents. i hate gourmand scents and loud florals.

   first spray: sweet, grassy, slightly acidic green tea. warm, faint osmanthus/jasmine floral. slightly milky/warm.

   mellowing/drydown: faint musk. sweet, dry green tea. dried grass/jasmine. faint milkiness.

   i love this–it’s comforting, sweet (but not TOO sweet), dry, dusty, clean, milky but not gourmand, floral but not too flowery. lasting power is decent–at the end of an 8 hour day i can faintly smell it.

   this manages a nice balance between sweet, dry, and green. a lot of green tea scents are paired with citrus (which i like), but this is a nice departure. i wear it year-round.

   I am reviewing this, along with CB I Hate Perfume Russia Caravan Tea absolu and having reviews all of the new Jo Malone scents just a few days ago. The top notes contain a very realistic, beautiful, green tea note. It then turns into a floral mixed with green tea, slightly more floral than tea. It’s very pretty, but I want more tea throughout the development of a tea fragrance. SECOND WEARING: Stayed a jasmine green tea pretty much throughout this time.

   I have purchased many tea, jasmine, citrus fragrances in the past. I just can’t get enough. But this is different than any I’ve worn before. It starts very light citrusy to me and then you get a natural tea scent out of it but before long you smell the warm, milky matcha. It’s not sweet, not sexy, not earthy, not floral, and not citrus. Instead it’s almost like a journey with the best of all of those depending on when you get the whiff. For $125, I’m thankful it’s a big bottle because it really doesn’t last very long. But my goodness, I go back for more!

   Great on a day where you aren’t sure what you want to smell like. It’s indescribable.

   I first read about Tea Escape in a magazine article, it was introduced in the US in spring 2015. Its predominant notes were described as citrus with jasmine and rice. I’m very fond of the Asian tea culture and all the subtle scents that accompany that ritual, so I was curious how well Tea Escape might capture it. The opening is indeed fresh citrus and it gives way quickly to a soft white floral heart of osmanthus and jasmine. Soon the rice appears and ties together and grounds the other notes really beautifully. This is an easy scent for me which creates a light, bright and positive atmosphere. I found Tea Escape’s sillage moderate and its overall longevity rather short, only a few hours, which is a small con. The bottle is a clean design, I like the fabric label with the typewriter font. None of the fragrances of the Replica line come with a cap, which is no issue for me, but it might be worth mentioning to anyone new to the line, so out of the box the bottle really looks like the stock photo I uploaded. Retails for $125 before tax. Admittedly, this is not my only “feel good” fragrance, but for now I’ve indicated that I would repurchase.
