I won’t lie, I do like a sweet scent every once in a while, but the progression of this one is odd.
As others have said, this starts off as your generic vanilla perfume, but the progression of this is odd.
And not pleasant.
It goes from creamy vanilla cake, and morphs to a creamy slice of lemon cake to…
Fake plastic Barbie cake?

This perfume is just “okay” for me. It definitely reminds me of a dupe of BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar. I bought this at a dowtown boutique shop on clearnace for $15, And, I’m glad, because if I spent more on it I may have regretted it. This is a good scent that I layer with Bodycology’s Toasted Sugar lotion. I can smell it on my clothes after 4 hours or so still. I definitely like it, but it’s not really anything special, either. I kinda get annoyed by all the BBW dupes…I wish all companies would just come up wioth their own scents!! I personally don’t want to smell like everyone else! okay…I’m done ranting. If you like BBW version you would also like this one.

Generic smelling. I smell nothing more than vanilla and musk. Lasting power=zero. For $28 a bottle save the money. I actually bought a dupe first and it smells so much better!

Let Them Eat Cake smells identical to Bath & Body Works’ Warm Vanilla Sugar on me (which is to say that it’s like heavy, musky, cloying sugar with hints of play-doh). I don’t get anything like coconut or coconut milk from this scent. I can’t wear this on its own, but its tolerable layered with some of Tokyo Milk’s sharper floral scents to keep it from being too sweet/simple.

So i got this to build up my Tokyo Milk collection ….but..i’m not impressed. I heard so many good things about the Let Them Eat Cake fragrance but in comparison to the other gourmand “gourmand like” perfumes i own this stuff is childsplay. It smells decent on the intial spray but then falls apart the longer it stays on the skin. It’s nothing really special and smells like one of them bobo vanilla body sprays you could pick up from Bath & Body Works or something..and i use those things as room spray. Oh..yeah, and it doesn’t smell like cake at all. Epic miss with that Tokyo Milk. With all this being said i still would use it but, just around the house..not for any special occassion or anything. I think this would make a great gift for a young girl 🙂

let them eat cake…. yet all i got was ‘let them eat candied orange peel.’ very sugary & citrusy. not that it’s a terrible thing to smell, but definitely not cake-like. i wear mostly gourmand, but i do like a little sumthin-sumthin to ground my food smells, like a deeper base note. but not to worry~ after less than a half hour… *POOF* ….it was no more :/

The sheer lilac shade looked so pretty online, but I agree with the other reviewer that said the glitter is gritty. Chunky glitter like a Topshop metallic eyeshadow. It didn’t feel comfortable at all and slid around. It doesn’t even have a nice scent/flavor. The case is heavy, but the tube feels plastic-y cheap. I’ll give it another try, but I’ll likely return this one.

The color is lovely. I am ok with frost, but if some people don’t like it at all they should avoid this one because it is frosty like a 70’s lipstick. I think the price is insane for this lipstick. It is not as good of a lipstick as my Diors or YSLs, yet the cost is a lot higher. I like the shine and metallic color of the case, but it’s an odd case at the same time. Hard and square, not sleek at all. It’s heavy like a freaking paperweight. I don’t appreciate that. The top slides on to cover the canister and there is a magnetic closure, which is a good feature (I think?). Overall, for $50 it is just too much. I could understand maybe $20. I will not repurchase.

Not a fan of this one. It’s really packed w/ glitter, & the glitter feels gritty on my lips. I just didn’t know it was a glitter bomb, I couldn’t tell online. I guess I will bust it out along w/ my UD Glinda pallet & dress up as Glinda for Halloween……..

Vive la France! Let Them Eat Cake is truly a luxury lipstick. As opulent and unusual as it is, it’s very wearable, and shockingly flattering. If anyone had ever suggested I try a lavender lip color I would have laughed. Then along comes my 7 year-old daughter who collects the pretty boxes from the lipsticks I keep buying. “Look at this one!” she exclaims, showing me yet another purple lipcolor, “It’s Beeaaaauuuutiful!” I’m still trying to get over the fact that I actually considered, even for a second, spending $50.00 on the mysteriously dazzling Silver Screen Stella…and then, right before me, is another tempting violet lipcolor…beckoning to my pocketbook. As much as I was enchanted with Stella (purple with a flash of turquoise), one look at the price inspired me to search for a dupe.
Let Them Eat Cake, on the other hand…yikes…I have a feeling I’m going to drop $50.00 on a lipstick. (I never thought I’d buy a blue lipstick either, but I adore Hello Sailor and I keep repurchasing it). For me, $50.00 is extravagant (Lipstick Queen lipsticks at their regular cost of $24.00 seem high priced to me, because I was used to paying $17.00 for Clinique lipsticks). I am having a hard time getting the especially unique color of Let Them Eat Cake out of my makeup cravings. It’s so different from any other lipstick. The texture is full, yet the lipstick is lightweight. It feels soft and creamy, yet it lasts for hours. Its rosey-gold undertones are quite flattering to my warm coloring, and it is actually as versatile as Pinky Nude. Unlike Pinky Nude, it makes me feel like Lumina Fairy.

Hmm, not sure how to put this, but Let Them Eat Cake is a Lipstick Queen product.

I would never have believed I would spend $45 for a lipstick. However, I tried it on in the store and loved the way it looked on me and the way it made my lips look fuller and softer. The Lipstick is a pinkish mauve color with irradescent sparkles. I have been wearing this lipstick with everything I wear and the color seems to go with everything. I have gotten many compliments on my lips for the first time ever. I usually don’t even wear lipstick because they seemed to fade right away and I never really found a color that I thought looked really good on me. This lipstick stays on even after I have eaten and the feel of it is so natural that you don’t feel like you are even wearing any lipstick.
