As someone really sensitive to heavy scents, I hardly ever wear perfumes.Until I sampled a whiff of the 2016 Lolita Lempicka Le Parfum and I became mesmerized with the powdery, smokey, vanilla, jasmine, and cedar notes. This perfume makes me think of a young, not quite innocent Morticia Addams attending evening mass at a Transylvanian Orthodox Church, getting high on the incense spread around the worshippers by the priest. My boyfriend dubbed it “mortuary vanilla,” jokingly, as he loves it and is intrigued by it. I only need the tinniest of tiny drops on the inside of my wrists to create the aura of winter solstice I am aiming for. That spray nozzle is a bit inconvenient, as it tends to dispense way too much. Overdoing it, can be lethal. The first time I used it, I had such a headache, I had to run and wash my hands immediately. Now I just unscrew the top and use the dispenser to pat a minuscule amount on my arms. This is strictly a cold weather perfume. In the summer, it is too cloyingly sweet, but in winter the cold air reacts with it to create the most beautiful, harmonious scent that is part my own and part fairy dust. I would definitely repurchase, because it is rare for me to find a perfume I love this much and which agrees with my body’s chemistry.
