Review of the roll on oil version of laundromat, not the spray. I find the spray a bit harsh. The roll on oil is relatively more subtle. In dry down, it’s not all that far from Egyptian musk oil, the supposed inspiration for NR musc oil for her and SJP lovely. I don’t think this is at all similar to NR for her EdP which is stronger on peach and rose notes. To my nose, the oil is not at all marine or ozonic (like Cool water, creed GIT, Creed Erolfa etc).
I like wearing this (one Dab on the wrist) when I want to rest my nose at night; actually to be more honest, I wear this when I want to give my husbands nose a rest at night. If it were entirely up to me, i would wear a wrist dab of my current favorite fragrance andy Tauer Phi-rose de Kandahar to bed 🙂

Just purchased my second bottle of Laundromat. Out of all the options for this type of fresh/soap-based fragrance (including Philosophy, Clean and others), Laundromat is by far my favorite and my HG.
I am a fragrance collector so this is by no means my exclusive scent. I use it on weekends, when I travel, and anytime I am craving that very fresh and clean fragrance feeling. This is light, not complex, not overthought. It is a lovely, soapy, jasmine, not at all chemically on me, fresh and clean smell with no unpleasant or cloying undertones (I am looking at you, “Clean”). It lasts a reasonable length of time on me, unlike Philosophy True Grace.
When I travel I will not only spray this on myself but on my clothes as they hang in the hotel closet to keep them smelling fresh.
Overall, this is a highly useful and delightful fragrance and at $19 a bottle (the first time Demeter has raised the price that I am aware of — these bottles were $16 a pop for at least a decade) you cannot beat the price.

I got a big bottle of this for $20 on Amazon which is an amazing price compared to purchasing it off of the Demeter website. At first was very disapointed with this scent, it gave me a headache and expected it to smell more like Gain and less like old soap. But admit it has grown on me. I spray it on my linens every now and then. Would not repirchase but glad have it 🙂

I was hesitant to buy this one because the reviews were either good or horrible, and seeing as there was no way of me smelling this before I actually bought it, i took the plunge and ordered a bottle anyway and boy am I thrilled :). This smells EXACTLY of Omo washing power, which my mum always uses to do the laundry. Such a clean and fresh scent. Give it a try.

Love this. Keep a bottle on my desk at work and my coworkers love when I spritz it. Works well with other fragrances; I really only use this, like I said, at work as a pick- me-up.

I really like this Demeter fragrance – it works really well with my body chemistry and doesn’t smell chemically on, as others have described. I am quite sensitive to fragrances and get headaches easily, but this scent doesn’t give me any grief in that respect. I find that it smells very clean and crisp on, with a strong soapy note and possibly a slight citrus undertone. I find it to be an accurate representation of what clean laundry smells like – fresh, powdery and clean. In terms of its longevity, it’s pretty average, as with most Demeter sprays – but it does seem to last longer than most! It clings especially well to fabric (ie. my sleeves or scarves), which can last all day. On my wrists, I have to re-apply after 4-5 hours (not bad for a fragrance spray, which is not the same as a perfume or eau de toilette). I like wearing it to work, where it’s not appropriate to wear very strong fragrances – this is the perfect compromise as it’s light, clean and fresh. I’ll continue to repurchase.

One of my favorite Demeter scents. Everyone who smells it says I smell like fresh laundry, which, I guess, is the point. The only thing keeping it from an overall rating of 5 is the longevity of the scent on my skin. I wish it would last a littler longer than it does. With that being said, It’s become somewhat of a signature scent for me and will continue to buy it time and time again.

When I got the sample, I kinda had ideas of what to expect. I mean, it is called Laundromat so I figured at the very least, it should smell of laundry detergent and/or dryer sheets and/ or fabric softener. Well, it does not smell like any of these to me at least not in the North American laundry/laundromat way. I suppose in that respect Demeter might have failed with this one but imagine my surprise when I sniffed it and it smelled EXACTLY like Omo detergent powder!!!!! The bright blue small granules of Omo!! Oh My Goodness!! I still can’t believe it. Most of my boarding school mates used this detergent and I would get some from them when my beloved Klin detergent ran out (gosh I miss my Klin! Nothing like it).
Anyways Omo, I mean Laundromat :P, has a non-floral, dark soapy scent if that means anything. It does not have as much lightness/brightness as regular soapy scents and I think this makes it odd to some people who reject it quickly because they don’t understand such a combination but it works!!! If someone who likes soapy scents gave it a few more tries to get used to the combo, I am confident they would change their minds and fall for this scent. It is a beautiful scent albeit HEAVILY soapy! I am talking soapiness to the MAX! I suppose this makes sense given that you use more soap when doing laundry than when showering. The scent is linear and stays this way even in the dry down which in this case is a good thing. It lasted at least 8 hours on me. For something more conventionally soapy, Demeter Pure Soap would do though I think Laundromat is worth sampling :).

I liked the smell in the bottle.
Reminded me, as the name implies, of a laundrymat!
On, it took on a weird chemical-like scent and was very, very strong.
Ended up giving me a headache after a while.
Very perfumy.
A friend of mine loved it, so I gave it to her and she wears it all the time.
I wouldnt’ buy it again.

This stuff smells good with my body chemistry. Some people it doesn’t! (Like all perfumes I guess) It smells like dryer sheets.
