First of all I want to start off by saying I looooooooooove non-citrus fruity, scrumptious scents that aren’t too heavy, mature and synthetic. This makes my heart beat for the Mediterranean…
SCENT: I love how it opens up with sour cherries, red berries and settles into deliciously creamy almond with Turkish rose and black tea lingering in the back. after 10-15 minutes you gradually smell the base notes of liquorice, tonka bean & Anise.
But what’s interesting is the sourcherry & almond don’t fade away, they are always present as the fragrance develops on the skin.
LASTING POWER: On my skin (& sometimes my mom who hijacks my perfumes) it lasts over 6 hours with a strong lingering scent. This is a very highly concentrated perfume.
PACKAGING: The packaging is one of my favourites: very luxury & classy, photo-friendly and suits tabletops. The heart shaped bottle is a replica of Guerlain’s long standing perfume ‘L’Heure Bleue’, invented back in 1912, and the lid which is shaped like a hollow heart alludes to those romantic pre-war years.
PRICE: It’s definitely up there in price, but it’s not the most expensive you’ll find on the market. It’s much cheaper than brands like Frederic Malle, Byredo & Diptyque for EDPs.
Overall 5/5 for me, It will always be one of my true loves in scents and a lifetime repurchase.

One of my favorite perfumes ever! It is truly divine! I’m a huge fan of maison Guerlain, and love all of their older, classic creations, particularly my beloved Shalimar edp. I’m generally a “classic” lover, with some of my other favourites being Chanel no. 5 and L’heure Bleue. So it was quite the surprise for me to find out just how much I adore this modern little gem! La petite robe noire smells mouth-wateringly good. This is one of those rare perfumes that I can detect almost all the notes in… bright bergamot, tart cherries, smoked black tea, liquorice, almonds, fresh-spicy notes of indian mint and star anise, and lots of patchouli. Some complain that it is too sweet, and I can totally understand where they’re coming from as when I tested this for the very first time, I thought the exact same thing. However, the more I tested it, the less sweet it became to my nose as I got more and more used to it. Now I smell the tart sour cherries much more than the sweetness, and it is pure bliss! My only disappointment in this product is the sillage. I can get LPRN to last and last on my clothes, but it seems no matter how much I spray, I can never get others to smell it on me 🙁 Would definitely repurchase though, despite the shockingly weak sillage. It is simply just too good to pass up! 🙂

Truly terrible. I can’t begin to explain how mundane this fragrance is. A petit robe noir it definitely isn’t. I gave it away after giving it to tries.

I’m surprised by so many bad reviews. I think this is a well made scent. Previously bought Couture version by mistake but thankfully I did. I love it! Recently bought the 100ml bottle of the La Petite Robe Noire edp. The fragrance is well blended mature fruity vanilla scent. On me, it starts with a blast fruity cherry and berries which mellows down shortly. After it dried down, the cherry took a backseat but stayed throughout while the nutty vanilla and dry-ish patchouli and iris ran the show.Cherry is the star which its sourness stayed in the background kept the drydown smelling fresh throughout. It is very long lasting too. I still can smell it after 7 hours of wear.

I am actually surprised that I even like this, let alone love it. I generally do not like sweet perfumes, as they do not work on me. (I also wear Tom Fort Black Orchid and Donna Karan Woman). I dislike this one for the first 20 minutes or so, but then it evolves into something much more sexy than sweet. I’m not sure how to describe the scent, as I find it quite complex.

for the price of this stuff i cannot believe how awful it smells. it is incredibly strong, even one spray is headache inducing. it takes hours for that “strongness” and sharpness to dissipate but even then, smells awful. somehow this scent manages to be both sweet and sharp-loud and overpowering. its awful.

There’s part of me that feels I shouldn’t like this perfume because it’s everything I generally avoid. I love older scents (if a review says ‘old lady perfume’ I am on it!) and this is definitely targeted at a young market. It’s candy-sweet, fruity and over the top. Yet it still manages to put a big smile on my face whenever I wear it.
Nb. For clarity’s sake, I have the 2009 version (purple tinted bottle with a dress that looks more like Wendy’s nightgown from Peter Pan).
The official notes are: Sicilian lemon, licorice, almond, rose, smoky tea, musk and vanilla.
What I get as soon as I spray this on is licorice, and candied flowers and fruits. The licorice is really amplified on my skin, and it’s sweet sweet sweet! The rose is also sweet, more like a rose syrup than a fresh bloom. As it wears down, the scent takes on a musky quality and it becomes more of a candy floral than a straight gourmand.
Le Petite Robe Noir has a loud personality and wearing it is like looking at the world through a Willy Wonka lens: everything is high-contrast, unnaturally bright and slightly odd.
I honestly wish I could tell you why I like it, but I don’t know. Perhaps it meshes nicely with my skin’s chemistry. Or perhaps it’s because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s certainly not something that I expected from Guerlain.
LPRN is definitely in the vein of Flowerbomb and Lolita Lempicka, but I like it better than both of those option (LL was lovely but gave me terrible headaches). So if you enjoy those types of fragrances, definitely give this a shot.
Would I purchase it again? Hmmm, that’s a tough one. I’ve said ‘no’ because I have to be in a certain mood to wear this scent and it’s not really me. But I’ve enjoyed pretending to be someone else for a while.

I love this perfume!! It lasts on my skin all day and the smell is amazing! it’s very sweet but not sickly. and the bottle is so pretty. I normally spray it on my wrists before work (7am) and when I come back home from work (10:30pm) I can still smell it. it’s very faint by then but it’s still there. I absolutely love this perfume!

Pretty girly bottle with a sweet little black dress on it. The first LPRN is the only one I really like out of all the releases, with the subsequent ones being too boring or fruity.
To me it smells mostly cherry and a bit of liquorice, among other things too that I can’t label. It is sweet without bordering on straight sugar and is not like that apple DKNY one or many of the female celebrity fragrances.
I really like it even though it isn’t my favourite. I do get that cherry coke vibe people mention but that appeals to me. While this is a sweet fragrance, there is that touch of darkness in there that makes it a bit richer and I think, unique. It also lasts well and you don’t need more than two sprays as it has decent strength to it.
I don’t wear it with a black dress but enjoy wearing it on a casual basis. While this isn’t one I would reserve for special occasions I would still repurchase.

I’m not into different scent types and notes and such but i love this perfume sooooo much. Its sweet, fruity, fresh with a little heavy muskiness just slightly going on. It isnt a powerful smell that’ll pong you out all day, but my boyfriend notices if hes close.
