Not office appropriate for me, but still really great. Warm, cuddly scent and I could see how it would be unisex. Lasts about 4-5 hours on me. Smells almost gourmand but not as sweet and seems to have a nice anchor of base notes that give it a dry crisp feel. Nice price for the amount.

There are some ambers that come up sour on me and smell like body odor. This is one of them (some that work for me, as a chemistry comparision for others, are Ambre Russe, L’Artisan Ambre Intense, Nature Made Amber oil, most of the Serge Lutens). If Secret Amber didn’t have that body odor amber, this would be fantastic. There’s spice, vanilla, rose and musk in a lovely creamy woody mix that is very pretty, soft and delicate. If you can wear any type of amber without an odd scent shift, this is worth trying. It could be so lovely, if only it didn’t make me smell like I haven’t showered in a week. Price point is laughably low, so it’s worth trying if the notes appeal to you.

You can call this Secret Amber if you want, but it’s really patchouli, smoke, and vanilla, a watered down version of Le Labo Patchouli 24. This probably started as a vanillic amber, hard on vanilla and soft on all the other parts of amber. Then the marketing genius at Jovan who came up with Silky Rose and Intense Oud walked by the room and changed everything. A squirt of the synthetic oud making the rounds lately got added, and this became a soft vanillic/wood with an overlay of smoke. It doesn’t have a ton of lasting power, and it’s light. But the problem with LL Patchouli is kind of its strength and persistence. You hold a sample vial and sniff, and maybe a teensy smidgin gets on your fingers. At some point you move your hair, or your shirt sleeve, and it’s all over. 24 hours later, you’re still smelling LL Patch 24. This is a good thing, but not always a good thing.
Secret Amber is much diluted. You can put big honking sprays on and it isn’t overpowering. You can layer it, brilliantly, And it’s very wearable — a soft cloud of sweet powder/wood, a waft of smoke. Even a little bit of a clean musk note, so that it’s cuddly on some level.
Very well made. When you know a fragrance has an inexpensive price point, way to make the dilution a plus! I am enjoying this fragrance very much.
