Mm. Well, the previous reviewer had a great idea and is just using this as a ‘sheer’ version of the regular perfume. I use it on my hair and on fabric that I don’t want to take a chance on staining with the higher oil content of the ‘real’ perfume. It’s great.
It IS lighter than the regular one, but not so much that I don’t feel I got value for money. I normally don’t buy hair mists, I usually just spray the regular perfume on there; I’m not that concerned about a trivial amount of alcohol in my hair, since I don’t do it daily or with every scent. But I found this on a decent sale and I LOVE the Cleopatra product.
It’s very, very similar to SJP Lovely/NR For Her/EL Modern Muse. Those are three of my faves, and if you can’t find Lovely anymore or the other two are too spendy, Cleopatra is a nice alternative for them all.
The bottle is nice: heavy, poshly decorated, the sprayer functions well, I’ve had no leaks, etc.
I don’t know that I would buy again if I had to pay full price, but only because I don’t usually buy hair mists at all, not because of any flaw in this particular product. It’s good. But because it’s a lighter product, it calms down and gets light quicker than the fragrance, and for MY purposes, I wanna choke in a sweet cloud of Cleopatra. But if I found this again for less than twenty dollars, yes please.

This is a genius fragrance product from Tocca. It’s a very light version of their perfumes, and meant to be a hair fragrance, but I’ve been using it as a perfume spray after the girls at my local Anthropologie were raving about it. I’ve worn Cleopatra for years and absolutely love the scent, but why the hair scent is so genius is that because it’s so light, it’s like a half strength version that’s acceptable for scent-sensitive situations, but still allows me to enjoy my beloved Cleopatra scent. So now, I wear the hair scent to work as a perfume, and save the real stuff for outside the workplace. It’s such a great compromise- I wish this was more common in the perfume industry.
