This is for those days when I’m sort of pissed off and want to transform that anger into fierceness, determination, and ACTION. Or for when I’m tired and need to wake up and get going. Or when I’m stressed and need the comfort of lavender and warmth. I have a lot of great perfume that I love and wear, but whenever I wear something else, I always stop and think at one point or another, “I wish I had worn Gris Clair instead!”
Before knowing anything about the notes of this fragrance I thought it smelled like an electrical fire. And I LOVED it. Now that I know more I realize it’s more of a “burning lavender”. It doesn’t smell like smoke; rather it’s pure fire, or hot ash. The effect is incredibly warming, and it lasts all day with good silage. Seriously, I’m on hour ten and it’s still going strong.
If you want a unique Serge Lutens but don’t love Orientals, I highly suggest this fragrance! It smells quite unisex or masculine, but without the notes commonly fond in mens’ fragrance.

I don’t get this frag. It’s a very spicey musk I guess? I don’t smell any tonka, orris. (as per listed notes) I guess what I mainly smell is the lavender perhaps a touch of amber and even less the woods. It smells almost clovey? to me. Kind of oldf-fashioned smelling? meh.

This fragrance opens with a lavender note framed by sweeter notes such as Tonca bean which conceal all of its unpleasant or harsh aspects. Wood-y notes provide a solid base for all the notes to dance on. Once the main accord is in its full glory, smoke-y woods, orris and lavender blend into a union that is just heavenly to smell. This is a very pleasant and manly fragrance whose name I think is well-chosen. Lasts four roughly six hours on my skin.
