   I got a sample size and have recently purchased the purse size of this. Obviously scent preferences are highly personal, but if you like vanilla, you’ll probably enjoy this. I saw a comparison to Tocca’s Colette- which I also own in a purse size. Between the two, I would say that Colette is a more delicate scent, a little lighter, and yet more complex. I ADORE Colette, but after an hour it’s basically gone. When I put on Gold in the morning, I can still smell it on my wrists at night. It’s for sure a bit of a heavy scent- very vanilla forward and very rich. But with that weight comes longevity, and it ages wonderfully throughout the day. It’s for sure worth picking up a sample if you’re into vanilla and looking for a winter perfume.

   I tried this in Sephora on the paper strip one day and had to order a bottle. It’s got the most amazing Drydown with a rich ambery vanilla scent. But 5 minutes past the amazing Drydown, there’s almost no scent left. I tried spraying it on my clothes instead but alas it still was fleeting. So I returned it and am back on the lookout for the perfect vanilla perfume.

   Like all scents, preferences are deeply personal (and specific to body chemistry), but this perfume is a gorgeous skin scent on me. I mostly get a warm amber with lavender and sandalwood, rather than the powdery vanilla others mention. I do get hints of vanilla, too, but it’s lovely and cozy and quiet. As someone who likes perfume but wants to keep it subtle, this one hits all the right notes. Bonus, despite being a skin scent, this scent lasts all day long for me.

   This smells virtually identical to TOCCA Colette but with almost no sillage – this is very much a skin scent. Pleasant, but about as weak as a body spray. Colette’s not particularly strong but at least other people will be able to smell it on you.

   Others have mentioned that Gold is very sweet, but on me it’s very fresh and very powdery with a touch of creaminess. I smell a lot of bergamot, citrus and a hint of vanilla.

   I don’t care for this one. Smells less interesting than some of this brand’s other scents and is very sweet. Smells somewhat like natural vanilla extract but too sweet for me.

   As a 19 year old girl, I just don’t like the smell. Sorry I can’t give you more info besides my demographic. I agree with the poster below’s description of the scent.

   This is a warm scent, not at all sharp or harsh. It started off heavily amber to me, but with a slight scent of what I’d call vanilla paper. You know how a perfume sample in a magazine or sprayed on paper always smells a little different than the real thing? Sometimes I prefer the paper sample because I like the smell of paper mixed with fragrance, the subtle vanilla-y smell of good paper. This fragrance had that, at least as an undercurrent. Other scents listed were tonka bean, vetiver, sandlewood, musk…and I got all that. But it was the warm combination of multiple layers that really won me over. This was a warm blanket fragrance. I would have given it five stars, except that, at least on me, it developed a powdery note after half an hour. This only lasted a bit (I hate powdery, it feels old-ladyish to me, whereas the rest definitely wasn’t), and then the depth returned.
