I was recommended this perfume after telling someone my devastation that was the reformulation of Stella. I am so glad I tried it! It’s very similar.. it lacks the amber notes, instead replaced with white woods, and overall is a lot lighter and less intense.
It’s the perfect T-shirt-and-jeans fragrance.. it doesn’t scream ”look at me, I’m all dressed up and here to stun!”, it simply smells like you’ve had a luxurious bath with some gorgeously scented artisan french soap, instead of perfuming yourself on purpose, if that makes sense. You can apply this with a heavy hand to increase lasting power with no worries about slapping people in the face with the fragrance or causing headaches.
The price is dear, but I am willing to pay it to have something that smells so beautiful, light, unoffensive, feminine. And I can rest assured that the brand will probably not be sold to a big corporation known for reformulating and watering down beloved perfumes.

Very onedimensional fragrance that I got as a decant when I bought other perfumes. It smells the same from beginning to end on me. I find the longevity a bit poor, the scent sticks around for about 2 1/2 hours.
The lilies, like always, give me a headache. I don’t know why, but when a scent has any type of lilies in it it always ends up giving me a major headache and sending me into a sneeze fest. Perhaps I’m allergic or something.
I was hoping to smell some of the rose since most people seem to get it, but the lilies overpowered everything. Might just be my chemistry though. I threw the decant out, it’s just doesn’t work on me.

I actually feel guilty for not having reviewed (read: endorsed) this fragrance yet! While I’d love to be one of those women with a signature scent that she wears every day, I am at heart a product fanatic, which extends to fragrances as well. I love trying new ones and have learned to order either rollerballs or travel sizes, because usually I tire of a fragrance before I can finish a large bottle. (Seriously, I feel like this is almost a character flaw. Why is that, I wonder?)
Well, L’Eau D’Issey Florale has been a staple in my fragrance wardrobe for three years now, and when I run out, I will most definitely buy more (unless – heaven forbid – the fragrance is discontinued).
I fell in love with this in a magazine insert and spent months trying to talk myself out of buying it because it’s ridiculously expensive. I’m not shy about purchasing high end fragrances, but $74 for a 1.6 oz. bottle made me hesitate. Finally I took the plunge and haven’t looked back. In fact, when my 1.6 oz. bottle was gone, I ordered a gift set from Macy’s that boasted of a huge 3 oz. bottle with body wash and lotion (neither of which I’d recommend; the scent is much more muted with those). Florale also stays on my swap list, and I’ve yet to turn down a swap for it.
So why my adoration? This is a light, feminine floral that’s not too overpowering; it’s actually very clean and soft. It’s also unobtrusive, making it perfect for daytime or office settings, but it’s sophisticated enough to transition to evening.
The two closest fragrances to which I can compare it are Stella McCartney’s original Stella and Elizabeth and James’ Nirvana White. I found Stella a bit too strong (and I can tolerate most any scent) with a rose note that was overpowering on me. It also seemed to be oddly unsophisticated – just a heavily rose-scented perfume, nothing terribly original about it. I was disappointed, because I so wanted to love it.
Recently I ordered the Nirvana White rollerball from sephora based solely on smelling magazine inserts. When I tried it for the first time, I understood why I’d been drawn to it – it bears a striking similarity to L’Eau D’Issey Florale in that it’s a feminine floral with a clean rose finish to it. But on me, Nirvana White has a sharpness that Florale doesn’t. Nirvana White certainly isn’t terrible (far from it), but in light of the perfect balance of floral and clean that Florale boasts, I found Nirvana White to be lacking.
So yes, my highest endorsement for L’Eau D’Issey Florale. Just a beautiful, classically feminine fragrance.

I just bough this for my mom on her birthday. I don’t know about her but my dad and I love it. It smell so clean, fresh and you can imagine yourself standing in the garden full of roses. And the packaging is so feminine and classy, light and natural. Will purchase one for myself soon

This is probably my first floral ever purchased. It’s not as smothering like most florals. This is simple, fresh and clean.
Top Notes: Firnat Rose Bud & Yellow Ginger Lily
Middle Notes: Mandarin Orange
End Notes: White Woods
It starts off like freshly bloomed flowers coated with morning spring dew. It’s somewhat strong at first. The initial fresh floral notes. After about two hours of wear, I can smell the white woods kicking in. At this point, I smell more like I just stepped out of the shower. It turns into a clean smell and the floral starts to fade off a bit. By the second day, the mandarin orange comes in and hangs out with the white woods and the floral is somewhere in the distance to the point of not being noticeable.

This is my absolute favorite perfume. I spent forever waffling over the purchase due to the price, but if I had it to do all over again I would have bought it immediately. I always get compliments when I wear it.

I don’t think I would ever buy this for myself, as it is very expensive for very little product. But that aside, every time I would walk into shoppers drug mart looking for a new perfume I found myself spraying this everywhere, basking in the heavenly rosey scent. To me, this is what heaven would smell like ! Light and fresh, very clean, purely smells of roses. But some seriously amazing, fragrant roses ! My father even told me he thought it was great ! He said it was not overpowering, and didn’t smell like “perfume”. Just one of those girls that smells like I’ve just casually rolled out of a flower bush, haha. My boyfriend bought this for me, as he knew I was a fan of it, and I was eager to get his opinion on it. To my delight, he loves it ! I would recommend this to any woman who likes to smell feminine and classy, yet very natural and light. I also the depth it has. I can almost imagine a mysterious, very smart woman wearing this. If that makes any sense at all ! Trust me when I say, it is lovely.

I normally detest florals, but this one is light and springy and I swear I can smell the original (my HG) as a base. This isn’t sharp or powdery or cloying, but it is wholly feminine without smelling like something I’ve smelled before.
I keep a rollerball in my bag, but I’m finding that I don’t need touch ups.

It’s a sweet smell which is mild and nice for younger girls in their 20s. The fragrance doesn’t wear long and I need at least 3 sprays before I can smell anything on myself. Maybe it’s my body that can’t retain fragrances for too long. I still prefer the older version of Issey that comes in the white box and clear bottle.

I love this. It is VERY rosy smelling and sweet, but that’s what I was looking for. I like sweeter smelling scents and this fits the bill. The bottle is pretty– a nice compliment to the collection of perfume bottles I display on my dresser. It does smell quite similar to Stella McCartney, but I like the dry down on Issey much better. A very soft and feminine fragrance, I feel it’s not too overpowering with a slight spritz to my neck to wear at work.
