I recently started wearing this again and it is such a lovely fragrance. The first time I experienced this fragrance was in 1987. From the first “whiff”, I was in love. It had a floral, sporty, fresh, musky scent that just seemed like a beautiful summer evening. Scents tend to make you remember certain times in life and this one just brings back a happy, hopeful time when life was real and all seemed possible. A fragrance is not going to change the world or take you back in time literally, but it can lift your spirits and make you feel happy and confident. This fragrance has gone through some reformulation just like all the others (why must they change a good thing?), but it is very close to the original. I bought this one at TJ Maxx, 3.4 oz bottle for $14.99. The bottle is the glass triangle with a blue triangle plastic lid. The packaging has gone down in quality as opposed to the original bottles, but it is such a great scent that I can live with the bottle. I had tried this again a few years ago and it really smelled kind of like a cheap floral. So either my chemistry was off or they have since reformulated it to be more like the original. That one was in a red plastic triangle shaped bottle, not like the one I have today. I’m just happy to have my fragrance back again. I’ve been around and around changing fragrances for about 15 years, just trying to find something I could feel content with, and I had some nice ones but they just never seemed to feel like me. I have come full circle with now, a lot older and wiser, and I still love my fragrance. Sometimes people will say you have to change your fragrance and start to wear something modern, but whether it is thirty years old or a brand new fragrance, if it makes you feel like you, then by all means, wear it!

I’ve loved this perfume since the late 1980’s. My Aunt Lisa wore Liz while she was in her last couple years of high school back in 1986/7, and I remember so vividly as young one, loving the crisp, mossy smell of this fragrance. It’s the perfect perfume to wear in the fall with an oversized sweater, bangle bracelets and slouchy boots….and if you can find one, a vintage Liz Claiborne handbag with those little triangles…I loved those purses. I’ve always enjoyed the freesia, carnation and oakmoss combination in Liz. It’s a stronger version of Ralph Lauren’s 1978, Lauren.
Smelling Liz these days is a memory trip back to a decade that I hold dear to my heart. Much like the power suited Giorgio Beverly Hills, Liz Claiborne still has a cult following, and because it’s not on the cover of Vogue anymore, you can feel somewhat unique wearing it now days.
Liz goes best with a bright red 1986 Camaro Iroc-Z, and be sure to have Bon Jovi’s “Slippery When Wet” cassette in the car, sitting next to that iconic bright red Claiborne triangle that holds so many memories for many of us. When you drive by, be sure and honk my way, and if you don’t mind, would you mind to pick me up and drop me off at my old address, 1987 Nostalgic Street, SadHeart, USA 19845? I’m pretty homesick….

Love this scent. It never gets old. It smells fresh, clean and a little citrusy – which is love. It will always be one of my favorites.

I think fresh, clean and colorful when I smell this. I wore this a lot back in the late 80’s/early to even mid 90’s, as did many people. I rarely wear it now though, I find it to be rather strong, less is definitely better. If I were to repurchase I would in the small triangle shaped glass bottle rather than the clunky triangle ones, I doubt that I will use up what I have through I wear it so little. But it’s fun once in a while just to be nostalgic…I still like the fragrance.

I love the way this fragrance smells, but I’ll never buy it or use it. My mother wore this fragrance all through the 80’s and 90’s. It was one of her favorites along with Oscar de la Renta and one called Salvador Dali or something like that. Now, whenever I think of my mother I remember the way this perfume smells. For me it’s more than just a floral, it’s the memory of my beautiful mother brushing her hair in front of her vanity table, it’s the memory of me playing with her perfumes, makeup and shoes,all of this back in the 80’s when I was a kid. I might buy a bottle one day, just to sniff it and remember.

Liz Claiborne is a very vibrant floral scent. A little goes a very long way so make sure to use sparingly. Used lightly this scent is great for the day or night. I’ve kept this perfume over the years and will continue to do so. The price is low and this is an easy scent to keep ready to use. Some might not like this scent because it definately works with body chemistry. I’ve noticed myself that the scent carries differently on my sister and mother (my sister isn’t a big fan) so testing out before you purchase would be wise.

My mother wore this when I was younger- I loved it on her then and I love it on me now! A fragrance can never be dated- unless you fall for every fashion/fad out there. I think it’s funny when people say this is an “80’s scent”. Huh? If these same people smelled Chanel No.5 would they also say, “that’s so 1920’s”? Fragrance shouldn’t be judged by the year it was made- but by how it makes you feel. I find it casual and uplifting and not too fruity. I think those 80’s haters just didn’t like who they were in those days. I hope Liz is always around!

Very much in the same vein as Guerlain’s L’Heure Bleue but heavier on the carnation.

Will never buy this, as I spent my middle school years in this like everyone else I went to school with. This and Colors by Benneton. I actually know someone who still wears this. 15-20 years later, and she still wears it. How unadventurous and sad:( It kind of makes me sick to smell it now, but there are a lot of other things that smell much , no MUCH worse, so I will just say “the 80s” that is what this smells like to me.

This doesn’t smell dated at all! It is perfect. l love the citrusy top note though I don’t care for citrus scents. Weird. Light and not heavy at all. Though the package is clunky.

Ah, a blast from the past. I rarely wore this one unless I used a friend’s. This is a pleasant fresh fragrance, provided that it is used LIGHTLY. It is one of those that doesn’t really change very much from person to person. So, not very complex, but again, very nice. People could have chosen much worse. I never owned this because everyone I knew was wearing this, Giorgio, Obsession, or Anne Klein and I wanted to be a little different. I chose Lauren and Cinnabar, which in the area I lived actually were more unusual.
