I am writing this in very layman terms, so please forgive. This opens bright and fresh. Definitely detect citrus in this. To me, this is along the lines of a CK fragrance. Having said that, I suppose this could be a unisex fragrance. So, this is not overly masculine, which to me, overly masculine is the woody notes, oud, the green notes, that sort of thing. This is not something I would choose for a man who likes ‘very manly/masculine’ colognes. This is definitely not a Polo or a Brut cologne, so if you like/are looking for ‘rugged’ or ‘very manly,’ this might not be your cup of tea. Whereas something like Polo or Brut might be for the more rugged type of outdoorsy/backwoods/backroads type of man, to me, this is more for the sophisticated very classy sophisticated city boy. (Not saying that a rugged man cannot be classy, just making generalizations. 😉 ) I think this is unique and versatile in that it can go from the office to a night out. The bottle is very nice, very masculine and clean and classy looking.
Dry down on this for us (me and my sweetie), we get a touch of musk, but that is barely detectable and you really kind of have to strain your nose to detect the musk (at least that is our finding/experience with this).
I do agree with reviews I have read that this disappears rather fast. Within an hour you need to pretty much get up close smack-face to the skin to smell this, and even then, your nose is straining to smell this. So I would say not good for an all day wear time, unless you have this on hand to spray and refresh throughout the day. But for shopping trips, movie night, date night, dinner out, that sort of thing, where you will ‘only be an hour or two,’ this will get you/him through very nicely.
To me, while this is a rather ‘safe’ cologne, I feel this is generally one that people like or are just ‘meh’ about..again, much like the CK frag’s, people either can take them or leave them. That is how I feel most people will be with this. It is ‘nice enough’ and pretty basic and safe, but nothing unique nor long-lasting or remarkable. My only stickler of a disappointment with this is that it disappears so very fast. We both like this quite well, but we feel a cologne of this price point should last longer than an hour or so. Would definitely score higher for us if it lasted longer than an hour. But it is a very good year-round, day to night, safe for crowds or the office type of fragrance. A fragrance you can wear pretty much anywhere, any time, any season. I just wish it lasted longer than an hour or so.
