Due’s history with me is checkered. I bought it during an infatuation with all things Biagiotti. It was my contention that the cornerstone of her prowess as a perfumer/brand was the use of gourmet notes (particularly vanilla) before their widespread popularity. Biagiotti’s Tempore Donna was (and still is) a particular favorite at the time, and I bought Due hoping for some similar morphing qualities to Tempore. Tempore morphs from a very elegant, high-note lily/white floral to, believe it or not, a chocolate-swayed warm amber/wood, with a very light, continuing higher note resonance of lily.
Due opened as a rose, more citric/aquatic than not. After a long time it faded to something sweet I didn’t particularly care for or identify. Earlier this week I put my bottle in a basket intended for swap. Boy did I miss the boat.
The rose is lovely, a tinctured, sweetened rose. The morphdown is another prefiguring — the sweet powders of early L’Instant, then Trussardi Inside, Nanette Lepore’s Nanette, the drydown of Covet, etc. My enjoyment of this fragrance is an interesting reminder to go back and review your opinions — they can be very wrong! Due Donna is lovely – richly rosey, sweet and fresh at the same time, another classic Biagiotti. The bottle is hideous. I’m not actually sure if I’d buy another bottle — I’ve yet to see whether I wear this more, now I understand it better.

I just can’t believe it: no one here to like this frag enough to review it? – I am rather speechless, because with all the widespread love of all things italian – fashion, lifestyle, character and beauty of inhabitants of the boot-shaped land – this should be proclaimed a national perfume of italy, like an anthem! It is absolutely everything an italian woman ( in her natural environment 😉 ) is to me, and I have known many through work and some more through play! 🙂 It is like a full bosom jumping inadvertently out of a tight bustier at you! what a complete, self-sufficient, proud and joyful perfume! It is like Poeme from Lancome, but before retirement. 🙂 I think of women like Monica Bellucci, Ornella Muti ( pre-bleach and other stuff ) Nigela Lawson even! Wine, great food, gorgeous men, sun going down every day with a promise instead of a regret – all that and more has been captured in a rather modern-looking bottle with a creamy pink juice. The notes are mandarin, orange blossom, magnolia, jasmine, rose, amber, Peru balsam and warm sandal wood according to fragrantica.com. I get rose, magnolia, sandalwood and surprisingly something aquatic too, just a hint of a sea breeze in there. Grab a bottle if u see one (It lasts for ages too!)
