I just stumbled upon Auric Blends this week in a local boutique. They had about 20 of the scents from the line so I spent a long time smelling all the different perfume oils. I love the packaging. It’s not fancy at all but have a boho hippie vibe. They come in these perfect sized glass roll on tubes. Each tube is $8.49 for 1/3 oz. These are oils so a little bit goes a long way. Out of the ones I was able to smell, Chinese Rain was my favorite. CR is a clean scent. It starts off with a crisp green note, almost a bit too overpowering but quickly turns into bright and cheerful floral notes. It dries down to a soft musk. It’s comfortable to wear daily and it can be worn anywhere and to any event. It’s a safe scent to wear around people. It won’t offend anyone. It just smells like you just stepped out of the shower. I wouldn’t think to reach this in the wintertime, but I find that I’m loving it during these cold days. It brings hope that spring is right around the corner!

This Auric Blends doesn’t work well with my chemistry. It has a high pitched ‘shrill’ that pierces right through my head! I don’t know what it is.. but it’s too much for me.

I like this scent. It’s a nice, clean, fresh scent. The only reason I wouldn’t buy it again is because I know it will take me ages to finish the tube; it’s not an everyday scent in my opinion.

Very much in the style of the old standby china musk oils, with a pale sheer musk underneath florals. I picked up a fairly loud white rose and maybe some lily of the valley, none of the amber or vanilla in the description. Unfortunately the florals were pretty high-pitched. There was a fleeting moment after drydown when it all resolved into something with a pleasant, feminine balance but then it vanished completely.

I Love this for spring! or for a rainy day this is really perfect!

Hm. I like the name more than anything else. This smell is sharp, clean, soapy. It doesnt change for me. And it is strong…and a bit masculine! I guess this stuff smells great to some, but to me it is aweful. I usually do not like “fresh” clean, soapy fragrances though. So if you are a dark, incency, vanilla or woodsy kinda girl this probably is not for you. The beauty is that it is cheap, $6 ! So now I will try some other auric blends!

At first, it’s a slightly soapy, rather sharp, green floral. It dries down into a sweet, faintly floral musk. I got a compliment on how fresh I smelled, but I’m not really in love with this. The initial notes are like someone squirted the juice of a Granny Smith apple in my face. Perhaps I’ll be able to bring myself to use it up, but I’ve got a lot of samples to get through and a full bottle of a L’artisan to get through…

chinese rain is my second purchase from auric blends. My first was sweet rain and I still love that one more!
Chinese Rain is very Clean and fresh you feel like you just stepped out of the shower.
A musk and floral blend with a base of amber and creamy sandalwood. Topped off with fresh green nuances and soft florals.
to me this smells like rain, like light green florals and has little hints of lily.the musk is very clean smelling like a light fresh soap.
I love sweet rain more but I will buy this again and again. to me chinese rain is perfect to wear everyday during the spring and summer. This perfume is very fresh and cleaning smeeling with light florals.

Growing up in Berkeley, California, I was raised going to a perfume oil / Bath & Body shop called “Body Tyme”. Body Tyme used to sell this perfume oil called China Rain and I loved wearing it in my pre-teen years. Auric Blends Chinese Rain puts me in the mind of my old China Rain perfume oil. It’s light, feminine and can be worn on almost any occassion. I still love it…

This is a pretty fragrance. This light floral aroma is ultra feminine. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what this smelled like but after reading some of the other reviews, I realized it DOES smell like JLO Glow. Chinese Rain would be nice if paired with any white floral such as Casual, Jessica McClintock or Sand & Sable.
