I agree with lipglossjunkee’s review on this. To me this smells when first sprayed clean and fresh and does dry down to a slightly woody, yet still a clean and fresh, scent. The bottle is also pretty and different. I first smelled this when my aunt kept a bottle of this on her kitchen window sill, and looking back, that was a neat way to display this pretty, floral-topped aqua-colored bottle…..not to mention being incredibly convenient for when you want a quick fresh spritz of something!! lol This is not a ‘signature scent’ for me, but I do greatly enjoy this and it lasts on me pretty much 12 hours or more on me. A great daytime, Spring or Summer scent, and safe for school or the workplace. Not too heavy or overpowering, so I think sensitive noses *may* be okay with this (although scents are personal and subjective). I think this is fairly unique for a fresh clean scent, especially with the woody dry down scent that I get, and it is a nice refreshing change from the florals and fruity scents that seem to be so popular and everywhere anymore. Not a must-have / shout from the rooftops for me, but I do enjoy owning it and I would very likely re-purchase it, especially when it seems so easy to purchase at a very affordable price. It is much easier now to find and much more affordable than when I first saw it on my aunt’s kitchen window sill all those years ago..;)

Ok, I’m pretty sure I have a newer version of this one, but as I’ve never smelled the vintage I’m okay on that score.
This is a huge winner in my book! It opens a tad soapy/clean with a hint of fruit and ylang-ylang but fairly quickly dries down into a crisp fresh woody vetiver and mimosa scent. It’s not loud, not a bomb, but is really gorgeous on my skin. This was a cheap blind buy and I’m really excited that it’s as lovely as it ended up being.
If you like mimosa and vetiver, I say give this a try! Especially if you hadn’t ever tried the original, that way there’s nothing to compare it to in your head.

I first found this perfume while on my honeymoon in 1992 when it first came out and instantly fell in love with the scent. It’s the only perfume that doesn’t give me a headache! I can’t smell it within minutes of putting it on, but hours later in the day I still get compliments on the smell. It’s very hard to find, especially here in Canada, but I found an out-of-the-way outlet that always carries it ($20 for the 50ml, very inexpensive!). It’s now 20 years later, and it’s still the only perfume I can wear and I still love it!

PROS: LOVE this. Subtle sweetness and almost fruity, barely floral. This is NOT your typical perfume though. It’s so different than most scents. I’ve heard it compared to Cool Water, but it’s slightly more floral and sweeter.
CONS: Do they still even make this stuff? It’s very hard to find.

I purchased Byblos over 10 years ago because it was suggested to me by a guy friend. Opens with a blast of sweetness but is quickly joined by white florals. The heart of the fragrance is mostly lily and dry downs to a base of white florals, woods, and musk. Although there is no ozonic note in this fragrance, I still totally get the aquatic feeling that the packaging is trying to convey. The bottle is a beautiful blue with a beige rose-topped bottle cap. Not a fragrance I wear very often but would like to re-purchase once I run out if I can find again. The last time I saw Byblos for sale was when I first purchased years ago.

Wow, where the heck have I been? Byblos, Byblos, BYBLOS… Introduced in 1992, yet I am just now trying/discovering this scent. What a wonderfully fresh, fruity scent. Yes, it’s advertised as a Floral, Fruity fragrance, but I get Fresh & Fruity Floral. Now, I do not usually go for “fresh” in a perfume, but this one changes my whole paradigm of fresh. It is bright, and sunny, and I call it fresh because it has a Clean type accord, (like fresh linen or laundry clean.) Yet, you are not smelling like Tide. Anyway, I wish I had finally tried Byblos this past spring, this would have been in my Spring/Summer starting line-up for sure. Well come next spring, I’ll be wearing Byblos for sure.

My Christmas scent, actually. The mandarin reminds me of the tangerine some of us get in our stockings (European tradtion?) the spice is the cider mom makes and it must be the grapefruit that smells so cool and wintery. This one works really well with wool clothes and snow, but if you want a comforting warm scent, this is not it. It’s clean and bright and colored like little lights, but I can see where others might smell artificial floral or fruit. Try it first. Still, one of my all time favorites and works well with my chemistry.

What a disappointment. :-I After what seemed like forever, I finally made up my mind and bought it unsniffed from an e-tailer. Mwha. It’s OK, I guess, though it smells a lot like those secret body sprays. I’d definitely not purchase again, just because the smell is a little bit cringe-inducing. I’ve just passed the stage when I feel like smelling like a fresh armpit is acceptable. Maybe the other reviewers are referring to another version of the juice, I don’t know. My bottle is orange and blue, although I’ve seen what one reviewer termed the “cancer cap” bottle. Oh well, another one for swapping or gifting!

Hmmm. After two months of sniffing this pretty little bottle and, on occasion, sniffing its contents on my wrist, I’ve decided that it’s just not me. It’s nice, to be fair…more than anything, it reminds me of fabric softener. It’s a bit too floral–or perhaps too *ambitious* in its “floralism.” I have to admit that I don’t recognize a single note in it. Normally, I would consider this a good thing; a more complex scent is always a bonus. However, Byblos seems less complex than *indecisive*. Wonderful blue bottle, with a disturbing rubber lid that resembles a tumor. (I have a mini…perhaps the regular-size bottle is different?)
Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin
Middle Notes: Mimosa, Muguet, Rose, Heliotrope, Violet, Lily, Orris
Base Notes: Raspberry, Musk, Vetiver

Yes, this is a crisp floral. For fans of crisp, floral fragrances, I’d say this is a good bet. There’s a slight butteriness to it too (traces of gardenia, perhaps?) and that adds some warmth to it for me. I’m just really not a floral fan, but I’m constantly trying.
