   I am so torn on this review. Scent-wise, this is probably one of the nicest and most unique offerings from Britney’s Fantasy line. I’d even go so far as saying it’s in my top 5 of all her fragrances (behind Cosmic Radiance, Rocker Femme Fantasy, original Fantasy, and Curious).

   The top notes start with a powerful burst of watermelon, with a nice and refreshing citrus accord following it. The listed floral heart is imperceptible to me; instead, I only detect the drydown of soft musk and sugar. This is basically a fruity, tropical drink in the form of a fragrance. So refreshing and energizing in the hot sun; this was my go-to fragrance in the Manhattan heat wave of 2016. The bottle was really cool, too, with its gorgeous graduated shading of blues and greens. It reminds me of the Caribbean seas when the sun starts to set.

   However, this is the first Britney perfume I’ve had where longevity and sillage were issues. Sillage is moderate in the first few minutes (arm’s length), but then it goes to a skin scent. That in and of itself doesn’t make me super mad: I don’t want to knock someone out with the strength of my perfume trail. What bothers me is how it’s combined with the scent’s poor longevity. I realize that this is the only Britney Spears formulation as an EDT. However, I’ve owned body mists from the Dollar Tree that last longer than this; this provides about 30 minutes of scent before evaporating completely. At $20 for 50 ml bottle, this is obscene. None of Britney’s other fragrances have this issue; in fact, Cosmic Radiance and my two favorite Fantasies (Rocker Femme and especially the original) have longevity that almost rivals Guerlain and Escada, two brands that have amazing longevity on my skin.

   I really want to like this, but I won’t ever purchase again. I thought Maui Fantasy might be similar, but it seems to veer towards coconutty rather than juicy watermelon (at least according to listed notes). I like coconut scents, but that’s not what I was in the mood for in the heat of this summer.

   BY FAR **The Best* of Britney’s line! Love Love this~ I found it 2 months ago, have gone thru half of the BIG bottle & already reordered a backup. Simply addicting. I never saw this in the store anywhere. I ran across it online,, read reviews, found a great deal & was INSTANTLY in love & I still crave it! I think the watermelon done right was what got me. I have wayyy too many perfumes in my collection. watermelon is hard to find. This is simply PERFECT! Please never stop making it!!!

   I went through a 50ml bottle last summer & had to get this one again!!<3

   This is one of my most favorite spring/summer scents!! I pick up lots of citrus & pineapple & hits of watermelon & sugar cane....just all around juicy fruits!!!

   The longevity could be better but I don't mind reapplying as neeed and sillage is initially moderate on me then it fades softly within 30mins for me

   My one and only BS perfume, I really am not a fan of Britney’s and unlike most I hate the bottle but I like the scent.
   EDIT: Down to one lippie I sold this on kijiji just too sweet and seriously over sickly sweet celebrity scent. It’s ok but into more complexe scent right now

   My latest trial of BS’s Fantasy Line – “Island” has left me again, wanting. After the last one I tested out, Circus, you would think I would have just called it quits. I adore the bottle so I am a sucker for the collection! Anyway, I picked this one up for $18.50 unsniffed on Ebay. It was marketed as an EDP, but is actually an EDT. It has almost 0 silage. Gone as soon as sprayed. On first sniff its pure citrus. Barely a trace of the berry or watermelon I was so lusting after. And the middle and base notes are just absent. I would not purchase this again. Its a disappointment. I was not thrilled with the last one, Circus either on first encounter but that had some staying power this has none.

   Top notes: citrus: mandarin, clementine, red berries and watermelon. Heart notes: Flowers of jasmine, violet and freesia. Base notes of musk and sugar cane.

   I won’t lie. First and foremost, I bought this for the gorgeous bottle. I like Britney, I like her scents, and this one was less than $20 and was cute. It sounded pleasing, note-wise, and I figured I’d give it a shot.

   It IS pleasing—a fresh, juicy, watermelon & citrus-sugar blast. Not overly sweet—very fresh, light, and really nice. My only problem is that it has the longevity of a body spray. 6-8 spritzes only lasted me about an hour before disappearing completely. I imagine this would be lovely sprayed all over the body (chilled) on a very hot summer day. But for me, life is too short for short-lived scents. The BFF loves watermelon, I think I’ll gift it to her. 😀

   Fantasy Island slightly disappoints me. It’s mostly a sour citrus on me, I really hoped I would get more of a distinctive watermelon, instead it is extremely watery and overpowered by the citrus. The watermelon does become slightly more noticeable as the initial blast of citrus fades. I still like the smell of the fragrance, it’s just not what I expected it to be.

   Longevity is absolutely dreadful on my skin when I only spray it once. It will only stay noticeable for a longer period of time when I put it on the inside of my elbows or clothes. I also sprayed it on my wrists, but I couldn’t smell it anymore after just 30 minutes. I’ve had eau de toillete that lasted a lot longer than that, so that’s no excuse either. When I apply 2 or more sprays to my wrist the scent does actually stay put a lot longer, it will linger around for about 6 hours.

   Fantasy Island is a really nice scent for warm summer and spring days. Whenever I wear it I will just overspray it, otherwise it would barely even be noticeable. I find myself reaching for it quite often. Once the sour stage has passed this really is a pleasant smell.

   Husband surprised me with this scent for Mother’s Day because he thinks it smells “HOT”…hehe. I surprisingly think it’s very pretty and great for summer as it has a light, fresh presence. I smell melon, citrus, some floral and aquatic notes. I could envision wearing this while on a beach vacation whilst wearing a white cotton sundress and sandals. I can’t imagine a Britney fragrance to have loads of staying power but we’ll see — I’ll have to update when I know more 🙂 UPDATE: This has the staying power of a drugstore body spray — what a shame as I really like to wear this in the hot months of the year. It is very affordable so I guess I’ll just keep the cute aqua bottle in my purse and reapply often.

    I have been wanting this forever, specifically because the bottle is so pretty. Finally found it at Marshall’s for $20 and tried it out. I like it a lot! I didn’t fall head over heals for it but I do like it. It smells very citrus-y and lemon-y, mixed with Hawaiian flowers.Like lemon-lime with hibiscus flowers or something, with an ocean splash in there. I was hoping something called Island Fantasy would smell more like mangoes or coconut, pineapple and bananas (I am still in search of a cocounut/banana/pineapple smell, so if you have suggestions please let me know) but this is nice. It is fruity but aquatic, like smelling a summer breeze on the beach in a tropical place. It is a happy scent but not a stunning, knock your socks off scent. The bottle is just lovely. I enjoy many of Britney’s scents.
