This has been changed (diluted more) for sure as I have an older bottle, and the one now is weaker.
That aside, this is a simplified (most of the fruity notes are gone) and arguably more pleasant version of Fantasy. Where Fantasy was too sharp, this is softer with no edges.
I can understand why the reviewer below would call it stale smelling though. The original Fantasy was definitely more vibrant and buoyant in comparison.
You get fruits but not a bucketload, vanilla, a sweet and smooth fragrance like Flowerbomb but this is more compressed in comparison. Just pleasant and ultra-simple. I like to layer it with other scents. Longevity of the older bottle is hours– up to a day.
It doesn’t have as big of a throw as some other gourmands out there. You needn’t disrupt an entire room’s peace of mind by wearing it, and imposing it on them. Since sweet perfumes are definitely not to everyone’s taste, this is a good quality.
Fantasy was my ex husband’s favourite perfume, though he was a perfume addict.
I had very highly rated and snob-approved flankers (gifts), but he considered Fantasy to be the ‘sexiest’ perfume ever. This one is different enough that he couldn’t place it as being in the same family. So if you liked one you may not necessarily be fond of the other.

I got this for Xmas from my husband (at my request). I had only smelled it on paper at the store.
On my skin it has a stale, old smell that I think is from the brown sugar. I think that note and my chemistry just do not mix.
Now I’m stuck with a bottle of perfume I do not like! 🙁

After testing this perfume out now the past 3times I went to Kohls…I just smell vanilla, brown sugar & faint musk IMO this is the sweetest scent she has come out with.
I found this scent to be light on me but decently lasting! I liked this but don’t love it….would I get a bottle? Sure for the right price.

Top notes: violet, lemon, litchi
Heart: brown sugar, genet, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley
Base notes: vanilla, heliotrope, benzoin, white musk.
To me, this smells like powdered sugar, fruit and marshmallows. Maybe with a little Johnson & Johnson baby powder thrown in for good measure. I certainly don’t get any lemon, but everyone is different.
Like another reviewer pointed out, there is absolutely no way that this perfume has real “genet” in it, so why they expect us to believe that, I have no clue.
In fact, I checked fragrantica (excellent site for perfume reviewing, btw), and currently there are only 11 perfumes that claim to have genet as an ingredient. Keep in mind this is out of over 36,000 perfumes and colognes across the globe.
So come on, seriously. Yeah right, you put anal oil in the perfume.
I know. You’re all so disappointed to find out that there’s no animal butt juice in your perfume. Happy spritzing. 😀
p.s.,
I bought this in a set from Target that included a bottle of dry oil. The oil itself is great, but it smells nothing like Intimate Fantasy. It smells more like straight up, one note roses.

I originally went in to buy the original fantasy but ended up choosing this over the original. It starts off with a citrus zing and then fades so a very soft, cuddly, sweet and marshmallowy base! It smells amazing! Great for teen girls!
Would definitely buy again! 🙂

To me this smells like a creamy sweet Brown Sugar, Powdered Sugar, Musk, Raspberry Jelly, and Baby Powder. It smells nothing like Fantasy, and not “a more adult version” of it either, unless you think sugary baby powder fragrances smell “mature”. I think most people see it similarly. If you look on Fragrantia, Fantasy Intimate edition is characterised as a Sugary Vanilla Musk, with some Helitrope that makes people detect the “baby powder” note in their reviews. The original Fantasy is noted as a Sweet Tropical Fruity fragrance with distinctive kiwifruit notes – very different.
So, Fantasy Intimate Edition is totally its own fragrance. Just like the milky-sweet white bottle, this is meant to give a gentle, sweet, pleasing aura. Great for when you get up close to someone and want to smell nice and sweet, not superfreaky bombshell. This type of fragrance is so good in a variety of situations. A signature fragrance for a young, quiet, shy, girly or cute personality. A pleasant scent for when working with children, or when hanging out with close friends or family. Also a great choice to wear when you or your partner want to relax together, especially if one of you is uptight, this type of sweet, non-threatening fragrance can help you cross stressful barriers, so you can more easily become physically close or emotionally attune in agreement 🙂 I think it would be easy to go through a whole bottle of this in not much time as its so nice! The only times I would NOT recommend wearing this, is to work where you need to holding a position of power or authority, or any situation where you want to smell super confident like a leader. Staying power is ok, not good, which is why I probably wouldn’t buy again. Around 1 – 2 hours on me.
EDIT: One weird thing I noticed everywhere about the marketing of this fragrance is that they have claimed in one of the Fragrance notes is “Genet”….Genet comes from the Anal scent glands of a type of African spotted Wild Cat. I do not believe for one second that Elizabeth Arden are disturbing this wild species or putting such a thing in perfume at all anymore. Why they would claim such a thing is beyond me.

The fragrance opens with fruity notes, so it has the same feel as the original Fantasy. But there is a definite difference between the two perfumes at the same time as the sweet citrus-lead fruits are subtle and fresh, rather then the bold Jolly Rancher type fruity notes of the original version.
The combination of powdery floral notes pretty much smells like the original Fantasy to my nose; this edition just removes the heavier sweetness of the white chocolate and lingering jammy fruit from the original. I’m not familiar with genet, but there is something airy and similar to musk mixed in with the florals, is this genet?
The benzoin begins to build in the heart and develops fully in the base, where it combines with a fresh hit of soft ambery vanilla, sandalwood, and mild musk, providing a lovely cocooning warmth that seems to whisper “come closer” to others like the original Fantasy does – minus the heavier cake note. I can’t separate any brown sugar, even though most people think that’s the strongest note in Fantasy Intimate.
Official scent notes; litchi, violet leaf, lemon, ozone notes, lily of the valley, jasmine, brown sugar, genet, vanilla, heliotrope, Laos benzoin and sensual white musk.
I’ve worn Fantasy since it was released but I don’t feel confident in it any more as I keep smelling it on younger people. but Fantasy Intimate has got the same things that appeal to me in Fantasy, but it’s softer, less syrupy, and generally less in your face than the original, so this is what I’d point older Fantasy fans towards. It’s great to see that team Spears has finally realised that neither she or the core followers of her Fantasy range are teenagers any more.

You can tell this is in the Fantasy family, but a softer sister. I can see why they call this the “Intimate” Fantasy—it’s closer, quieter, and a bit more floral at it’s heart.
You wouldn’t think the ozone and brown sugar notes would mesh as well as they do—but add in some violet leaf (one of my all time favorite notes) and some benzoin and you have a nice balance of fresh + sweet.
I get no genet and not really any jasmine and only the barest hint of LOTV —-but a softness of heliotrope gives this a bit more character than the original Fantasy. I really enjoy the fact that this one ventures into a different territory from the past flankers. Nothing wrong with the original, but I love something different too!
Worth hunting down!

I was looking forward to trying out this fragrance and I finally got the chance tonight at Kohl’s. I had high hopes that this fragrance to be similar to the original Fantasy. I don’t think it smells anything like the original and is very similar to a lot of the celebrity fragrances on the market. Its another fruity concoction. I will not purchase.
