I have an older set of this. I can not discuss the newer formula as I haven’t tried this (I was lucky to discover the one I carried out in Canada). Mine is wonderful, long long-term and great sillage. The eucalyptus note projects. I need to state this is really distinct and unlike anything in my collection. The cedar and scent provide it a good oomph. When I saw that Annick Menardo is the perfumer behind it, it was a wonderful shock as I appreciate her fragrances.

Body Kouros is absolutely nothing like the initial Kouros, so if you’ve been staying clear of Body Kouros because you believed they ‘d be similar, kick back. This a fascinating, easy to use, absolutely unisex smoky oriental.
It begins with a little eucalyptus and clary sage before promptly drying down to a woody scent fragrance controlled by benzoin. The eucalyptus discolors very swiftly, yet the clary sage remains throughout the life of the scent. According to Fragrantica, top notes are eucalyptus as well as scent; middle notes are Chinese cedar and clary sage; base note is benzoin.
If I needed to explain this fragrance, I would certainly state that it scents like a strolling into an intriguing, eclectically equipped area including a cedar upper body, a flower holder filled with plant (no flowers) with Japanese incense burning in the background.
It’s not quite ideal for either myself or my partner, but I can appreciate the quality. Sillage is modest, and also long life is throughout the day. This can generally be bought for around $45AU for a 100 ml eau de toilette. Phenomenal worth for cash offered how long it lasts.
Although it is fairly easy to wear, it doesn’t suit everybody. It’s a rather ascetic, intellectual and withdrawn scent. I don’t truly have the gravitas to pull it off. Having claimed that, there’s no way I’m removing my container. I can see me wearing this to bed, or around your home, as well as occasionally as a layering representative. I might see me topping it with a tuberose or jasmine fragrance oil.
Edit: I can’t assist myself. I like to layer fragrances as well as have discovered a mix that fits me brilliantly. Island Gardenia by Jovan is a luscious, buttery white flower that scents like it has a mix of toasted coconut and eco-friendly notes. When I layer the two together it expands the durability of Island Gardenia and soften the sweet taste while including smokey, natural touches. A charming mix. Used by itself, Body Kouros is a little as well significant for me. Used by itself, Island Gardenia is too pleasant however integrating them is magic.

I have actually never ever tried the original Body Kouros, so I can’t compare. I acquired this on an impulse, without smelling a tester, as a result of the evaluations on below and reviewing the notes. I have actually never ever seen it in stores before, but a Shoppers Medication Mart had it so I jumped on the possibility to obtain it. It was a risk-free blind purchase for me! It is definitely an spicy asian type fragrance, yet it likewise has a sweet taste. I can not compare to the initial, however this is top notch stuff either way. There is eucalyptus in the opening and afterwards some incense, and also benzoin in the completely dry down.

I have an older batch of this. I can’t comment on the newer formulation as I haven’t tried this (I was lucky to find the one I did in Canada). Mine is lovely, very long lasting and good sillage. The eucalyptus note is prominent. I have to say this is very unique and unlike anything in my collection. The cedar and incense give it a nice oomph. When I saw that Annick Menardo is the perfumer behind it, it was a nice surprise as I enjoy her perfumes.

Body Kouros is nothing like the original Kouros, so if you’ve been avoiding Body Kouros because you thought they’d be similar, relax. This an interesting, easy to wear, definitely unisex smoky oriental.
It starts off with a bit of eucalyptus and clary sage before quickly drying down to a woody incense fragrance dominated by benzoin. The eucalyptus fades very quickly, but the clary sage remains throughout the life of the fragrance. According to Fragrantica, top notes are eucalyptus and incense; middle notes are Chinese cedar and clary sage; base note is benzoin.
If I had to describe this fragrance, I would say that it smells like a walking into an interesting, eclectically furnished room containing a cedar chest, a vase full of greenery (no flowers) with Japanese incense burning in the background.
It’s not quite right for either myself or my partner, but I can appreciate the quality. Sillage is moderate, and longevity is all day. This can normally be purchased for around $45AU for a 100 ml eau de toilette. Phenomenal value for money given how long it lasts.
Although it is quite easy to wear, it doesn’t suit everyone. It’s a fairly austere, intellectual and introverted scent. I don’t really have the gravitas to pull it off. Having said that, there’s no way I’m getting rid of my bottle. I can see me wearing this to bed, or around the house, and occasionally as a layering agent. I could see me topping it with a tuberose or jasmine fragrance oil.
Edit: I can’t help myself. I love to layer fragrances and have found a combination that suits me brilliantly. Island Gardenia by Jovan is a creamy, buttery white floral that smells like it has a combination of toasted coconut and green notes. When I layer the two together it extends the longevity of Island Gardenia and tones down the sweetness while adding smokey, herbal undertones. A lovely combination. Worn by itself, Body Kouros is a little too serious for me. Worn by itself, Island Gardenia is too sweet but combining them is magic.

I’ve never tried the original Body Kouros, so I can’t compare. I bought this on a whim, without smelling a tester, due to the reviews on here and reading the notes. I’ve never seen it in stores before, but a Shoppers Drug Mart had it so I jumped on the chance to get it. It was a safe blind buy for me! It is definitely an spicy oriental type scent, but it also has a sweetness. I can’t compare to the original, but this is top notch stuff either way. There is eucalyptus in the opening and then some incense, and benzoin in the dry down.
