This is advertised as a warm and sweet gourmand, but sadly I found Blackberry Lily horrible and I would not classify this as a gourmand. I am a fan of the company’s Vanilla Woods, and with my success with that fragrance, I did a blind buy and purchased Blackberry Lily which is composed of Blackberry, Lily and Geranium and I regret my impulsiveness and wish that I would have waited to try this in person when it becomes available at Sephora. I did an initial spray on an index card and was really confused that my nose was detecting an almost metallic accord mixed with a drop of Blackberry. It smelled very sharp and bitter. I next sprayed some on myself and unfortunately the scent was even worse in working with my chemistry. I still noted this bitter metallic accord, a bit of blackberry as well as an off-putting dirty odor. When I say dirty I do not mean to say something animalistic/musky, but the best I could compare this gross dirtiness would be to say it reminded me of a baby’s poopy diaper left sitting in a garbage can. It was so strong that I could not wait to scrub it off. I am a huge fan of Blackberry (one of my longest wearing perfumes is Trish McEvoy’s Blackberry and Vanilla Musk,) however, I believe what caused this perfume to counter against my chemistry was the Lily.
