the best!! I am allergic to most perfumes and fragrances but this did NOT irritate skin or breathing at all. I loved it so much that I bought the soaps, bubble baths, oils etc. I received so many compliments when wearing it! Only downfall, was it discontinued 🙁 now Im back to no perfumes again!

This perfume smelled too musky for me. No Sale.

I really like this!!!! Like some of the other reviews, BA smells similar to Chanel Mademoiselle, only sweeter. Its a lovely, mature fragrance and lasts awhile.
My best friend was the one who started me wearing this. She would wear it, and it smelled so good. I sprayed the body mist, and it smelled bad on me. However, when I tried the EDT, things changed. It smelled really nice on me. I was glad I decided to purchase this during BBW semi-annual sale. I received a $30 bottle for $7.50. I don’t care if the packaging may be old. All I care about is the nice fragrance.

All I can say is this is DISGUSTING. HORRIBLE HEADACHES NAUSIATING AND MAKES ME WANT TO BARF MY INTESTINES OUT. YAH ITS STRONG AND GROSS. DONT BUY!

I managed to find a 75% off sale at a BBW outlet and picked up the EDT in Black Amethyst along with a body cream and shower cream. This is almost too berry/fruity for me but the patchouli stands out enough to round out the sweetness. I’m disappointed by the staying power of this yet happy about at the same time since that makes it a little easier to wear in certain situations. I liked this before the sale, but it was the sale that allowed me to finally purchase this. Bah humbug on this only being appropriate for evening, I say to wear it anytime that you like since it’s still rather soft even with the nice patchouli note.

Completely agree that Black Amethyst reminds me, not only of Coco Madmoiselle, but also Allure Sensuelle. CM tends to lean more toward its fruity notes when I wear it and because of this, I don’t wear it often(not really a fan of fruity scents) and while I adore Allure Sensuelle, it’s no longer available unless you hock vital organs on the black market to pay for it. Black Amethyst is a beautiful(and cheap:) alternative to both scents I’ve mentioned. And now that I’ve said this, it will probably be discontinued as B&BW always does that to their best products.

Stopped by Bath and Body Works to sample the new Dark Kiss scent (which I DO like) but tried out a spritz of the Black Amethyst on one wrist and the Dark Kiss on the other. Went home and over the course of a few hours, the Dark Kiss stayed kind of sweet and one-dimensional, whereas the Black Amethyst morphed into something a lot more interesting – a modestly sweet floral tempered with sandalwood, but very mysterious. Went back for the Black Amethyst and am now happily wearing this scent, especially with fall approaching.

this smells good to me. so glad bbw is coming out with deeper scents. nice fruity musk that is not overpowering. very mature scent; not for the faint of heart. hope they continue making this.

I really, really like this in the edt. I’m not a big user of body lotions, gels, spray, etc. but I love parfum, edp, & edt. According to Osmoz.com, “John Gamba, Master Perfumer at Givaudan, created Black Amethyst with autumn’s deep, rich mysterious hues in mind.”
The edt formulation is a creamy, warm, sweet, yet slighty spicy slightly woody Oriental. I can definitely see why so many are reminded of Coco Mademoiselle, and, on me, Black Amethyst and Coco Mademoiselle EDT (not edp) share a strikingly similar creamy, sugary amber topnote. I am reminded of Allure Sensuelle as well. Black Amethyst is a lot gentler and much more subtle than Coco Mlle, but the lasting power, edp. for a Bath & Body Works edt, is very impressive. It’s not stunning or anything, but it’s good. The scent stays close to skin, so it’s highly unlikely tthat it would cause discomfort for people who are highly allergic to some fragrances. I’ve owned my large 2.5 oz. bottle of Black Amethyst for about a year and a half, (it was buy two get one free so it was really cheap to purchase) and even though I’ve used only about 1/4 of the bottle, I’ve found there are times when I just crave Black Amethyst. It’s cozy, sensuous, pretty, and feminine. Right after spraying there are notes that my nose transmits as orange, berry, and random white florals. Black Amethyst (like Coco Mademoiselle, Allure Sensuelle, Prada, Omnia Profumo Granato, and other beloved perfumes) contains my favorite base note blend: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Vanilla, and Musk. On me, the patchouli is light and honeyed, and the vetiver is deep and green. Black Amethyst smells luxurious, and relaxed, and it allows me to get whiffs of elegance over several hours, for a very low price. It works for me.

It does smell like a mild version of Coco M. I give them credit for making something unusual for bbw. They have made so many common scents, but the last few years they have taken some risks. I don’t think this will stick around forever, but it’s a nice scent. The lasting power in the body spray is good. I picked up a small body spray, and will wear it this fall.
