Atelier Cologne Sud Magnolia is a thoroughly mediocre fragrance. There is no denying that the house offerings are higher quality than many fragrances out there. But I must be honest–the last few I’ve tried seem really thrown together, with mis-matched development themes and unsatisfying dry downs. Sud Magnolia is in this category for me. It starts quite bright and citrusy–like a fruit salad of blood orange and tart berries, tending toward fruit punch but with emphasis on the citrus. This phase wears off quickly, and the fragrance turns to a banal fruity rose with very little throw. The dry down is a meek skin scent, and consists mostly of white musk with a bitter edge. The entire scenario evolved over only about 3 hours. For me, the only thing saving this fragrance from a 1-2 star rating is the fun fruity opening, which is devastatingly short.

OMG smells absolutely divine. I looooovvvve this fragrance. I purchase a lot of perfume and I must say usually within a week, I’m not in love with them anymore, but this one. I want to wear it all the time. I started off with the mini rollerball and within two weeks I had to have the 1 oz. And trust me at the next 20 percent sale, I’m getting the largest size available- 3.3 oz. I wear it to work, I wear it to bed, I wear it to dinner, to do chores. I am just waiting for the lotion, shower gel, shampoo to be released. I’ve never loved a fragrance as much as I love this one. Whomever made this one, I just want to say you did well. Kisses.
