This slowly is becoming my favourite Jo Malone. It is understated and elegant, very much in line with Jo Malone as a brand. It opens with spicy and peppery coriander but it settles down into this gorgeously mild amber wood that is oh so sniffable. It feels like ‘second skin’ that is attractive and seductive. Amber & Patchouli creates an ambiance, an aura around you that you as opposed to something that screams for attention. Think understated chic. You will definitely be noticed though, it is one of my biggest compliment getters. Sillage isn’t big but the longevity is quite good at about 8 hours.

My favourite Jo Malone. A highly wearable patchouli that is appropriate for many occasions. I get a lot of compliments on this one and it is a hidden gem in the Jo Malone line. Departing from the brand’s signature crispness; it’d appeal more to those that enjoy heavier woody orientals from Tom Ford, Serge Luten and other middle eastern inspired themes. It’s a seductive scent that is so sniffable!
If you enjoy amber, suede, guiacwood or patchouli, give this a spray!
It’s not loud but definitely lingering. I’d say it lasts the longest of the Jo Malone range. Surpassing Dark Amber & Gingerlily.

Another stunner from Jo Malone, and especially of my favorites from them, their cologne intense range. This is a fragrance that is genderless, timeless, and in my opinion Seasonless. It is simple but well-executed, doing exactly what it says. It is amber, not sweet or syrupy, but more warm, earthy, and powdery. And green, grassy (but not so fresh) smoky peppery patchouli, but not elevated to the sweetness of a modern, patchouli or like the ever popular “fruichouli” that has been a part of so many niche and designer fragrances over the last 10+. The patchouli here is definitely purer, more like a smell of the real patchouli essential oil, but still very soft and possibly softened by the amber, even further. My two favorites from the Cologne Intense (and from Jo Malone period_ are Velvet Rose 7 Oud and Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, with Tuberose Angelica coming in below those at number 3, I think, but Amber and Patchouli is another love that I would recommend and say would be good for both sexes and in any occasion as it is a good approachable scent that wears well on the skin but could be polished and sexy too depending on the vibe of the rest of the occasion where it is worn and other things about the look (clothing, makeup etc). I could see this being a signature scent for this reason, as it is so versatile and pleasing in many ways and situations.
