I’m a woman, but I firmly believe fragrance and beauty products are genderless. This fragrance is lovely in warmer weather. Fragrantica classes it as an Aromatic Aquatic, meaning it primarily contains herbal notes and salty/beachy notes. I don’t get summer holiday from ADGP, moreso business casual on a warm day. It’s a safe scent, without any piercing notes or that brash masculinity a lot of fragrances marketed to men have (like over the top spicy/leathery/tobacco notes). I get a lot of compliments on it, mostly from women. I said yes to repurchasing although I probably won’t, I just like it enough that I am glad I bought a bottle.

I bought this in the post-Christmas sales, in a marked-down gift set, so it wasn’t very expensive, but it’s not cheap if you buy it at full price. The packaging is great, both aesthetically attractive and practical. It’s very heavy, meaning you could probably drop it without breaking it, and the cap stays on with a strong magnet.

The original Acqua di Gio is a classic, but one that I never quite got into wearing myself. It was too weak to me, too non descript. This is a step in the right direction for me. It is a parfum concentration (or profumo as stated). Even though it is still a fresh fragrance, it is spicier and lasts longer on my skin. It combines mineral marine notes with the intensity of frankincense and the seductiveness of patchouli. Elegant and impassioned.
